Elections John Kasich would win in 2020

I think Kasich must have somehow become "bipartisan" just by acting vaguely like an adult. The more I look into him, he's just a typical garbage Republican with weak gestures toward the center who panders all he can to the Jesus freaks.

As an Ohioan I can confirm all of this. He benefitted GREATLY from the strong economy while in office prior to his 2016 run, in the same way that Ted Strickland was ran out of office because of the Bush economic collapse.

Not really relevant, but rumor is he was notoriously bad for frequently hiring prostitutes while a congressman in DC. Like so bad that other congressmen, who do the same thing, had to tell him to calm down because he had a family.

He’s bitchmade and low key stupid as fuck. Most Ohioans are sick of him at this point. Sherrod Brown is way more popular than him, but even he would probably lose to Trump.

This national obsession with Ohio political figures is weird because we don’t even like them.

Trump stands for what he campaigned on. He's smart enough to understand he needs his base, and that he can't win over the left no matter what. As long as he fights to keep his promises he will keep his base. It's ridiculous to think anything else matters. Who cares what his underlying motivation is to do the right thing. He listens to his base who elected him and that's all that matters. It good to have a president that listens.

What a silly lie. Did he stand for the wall last year? No. Does he still stand for repeal and replacing Obamacare? No. He says whatever comes to mind, like when he said govt should be allowed to take guns with no due process. He has no core value.

Despite what the trump bots here would tell you I think a lot of Republicans are embarrassed by him. If they want to win 2020 I feel a bipartisan guy like Kasich is their best shot

Nobody with even a thin veneer of respectability or human decency has shot at appealing to the Republican base. They won’t accept anything less than obnoxious human garbage.

Any prospective GOP candidate needs to be screeching about Mexicans, Muslims and uppity kneeling football negros. Kasich just ain’t that guy.

He hasn’t done enough crimes either.

that shows you how low republicans have sunk if he appears reasonable and fairly sane in comparism

I had hoped that people were tired of the shit flinging that came this administration. There are many common bi partisan goals that could be accomplished if either party would elect someone who will work with the other side.

That idea has ended poorly for the dems. Playing nice.

edit: I was thinking of the other mormon guy, not Kasich. Carry on.
edit II: Jon Huntsman was the guy I was thinking of for some reason. lol

I am not in favor of boycotting Israel. Israel has been a good ally. I have traveled to Israel, and it was one of the best and most meaningful trips I have taken with my family. Standing at the Western Wall was special and powerful. Visiting old Jerusalem was incredible, and sailing on the sea of Galilee while a double rainbow glowed above us is something I will never forget. Israel is truly a unique and special place.

I also agree with both supporters of Israel and PLO leaders that a boycott has the potential to hurt both Israel and the Palestinians.

At the same time, I am concerned about what the role of Congress can and should be in this situation. I strongly oppose any legislation that attempts to ban boycotts or ban people who support boycotts from participating in our government or working for our government.

I firmly believe we have to be very careful what powers we exercise in government—and think through whether or not we would want them used if the situation were different.

So I guess money really is speech.

I think at this point, Stipe Miocic has a better shot at beating Trump. <Fedor23>

Baker Mayfield is the only person in the state who would beat Trump. Maybe Urban Meyer.

Stipe is a nobody in Cleveland lol.

All jokes aside, Ohio is a red state now. It’s really that simple.

John Kasick is playing a character.

He's portraying what people from the East and West Coasts and major metropolitan cities imagine a Mid-Westerner to be like.

His whole "Gee golly shucks, can't we all just go down to the soda jerk and talk this whole thing out, politics today sure is a hum-dinger I'll tell ya!" act is an idealized version of midwesterners that he hopes will appeal to the parts of the country he isn't from.

He's a RINO and a phoney.

That's actually seems like a easy mistake to make for some reason.

There’s some people I would take over Trump but not Kasich he’s a untrustworthy snake. He’s weak and folds faster than a lawn chair.

What Republicans would you like to see run for President if Trump does not?
