Just watched Starman for the first time in decades.

Did not hold up.

I haven't seen all those but voted for 'Assault on Precinct 13' (which I have) in no small part coz it has Carpenter's best theme, as multiple 1980s dance tracks based on it will attest to.

...and I don't see 'Dark Star' mentioned anywhere in any of all this so I'll say that's his most underrated film (& it's my dad's favorite movie!)

In the mouth of Parmesan and Wes craven new nightmare were excellent Meta

Whoever voted Prince Of Darkness got it right I already voted a few minutes ago but wanted to see for myself if any articles were written on it , got his own thoughts which is better .

There’s several reasons why this would be his most underrated, many movies listed aren’t underrated at all here , this has a true cult following and not nearly as popular as ones like They Live or Starman .

I get ppl have different tastes as well but Escape From L.A is his worst movie at least big budget movie , he should do a real movie sequel where Snake wakes up in the beginning as if that movie was an entire dream so the events never actually happened and he’s going back to N.Y . Lol

John is such a low key GOAT. Like the Carlos Condit of filmmakers. Gotta be another GOAT to outdo him.

Christine maybe? You never really hear it get brought up on anyone's list yet it's pretty good.
Thats part of why I picked it over Prince of Darkness. Its such a silly plot but it never makes you feel like its a joke.

Movies with stupid ideas, taken seriously, can hold up. Christine is fun as fuck.

For me it's Prince of Darkness. I'll watch it whenever I see it available, but that goes for another any carpenter's work
