Joe Schilling sucker punching drunk guy

What a dick
Going all aggressive against good guy Joe.
Just hope Joe did not bruise his knuckles while defending himself and other innocent people in that place
At the end of the day he's not even a .500 fighter. He needs any victory he can get.

Schilling is in the wrong here. That drunk manlet posed no threat to even an average guy, let alone a train fighter like Schilling.
Schilling literally could have bent the guy over his knee spanked him got a laugh out of the crowd and left but no he went full meathead instead..

The guy made an aggressive move on Schilling so he's not innocent in this, but a pro fighter needs to know better.

Schilling is a trained killer and much larger than this guy. Schilling just comes across as a goon here, maybe someone who is insecure and angry that his career has gone down the tubes.
Lol he never had much of a career.

What if this was just a promo for his clothing brand? Joe is wearing a shirt that reads Ring, Cage, Parking Lot. I mean that drunk guy was being filmed for no reason ‍♂️

No surprise to see idiots think this was fine and self defence same idiots that were saying the old man conor punched deserved it for "disrespecting" him turning down he's drink lol. Too many low lifes in the world.

Shilling is an uneducated fool. He should know that drunks guys are not responsible for fighters sounding punch drunk

You can’t fucking do that every time someone drunk is next to you in a bar lol

so he’s supposed to sit back and let the drunk guy get the jump on him? He moved and acted in an aggressive manner towards Joe, how do you expect any man to react when put in that situation? Keep making excuses for the drunk guy?

But whether not ud be success in the altercation doesnt change whos doing the threatening..not in the court of law...

The act of threatening is not the same as being success at it...u dont have to scare someone for it to be considered threatening...

pretty sure it's the opposite bud, a lot of people shit on Conor (rightfully so) for punching the old man but are defending Schilling in here

You’re guessing. And hoping, probably. But Joe came back when the guy called him, then the guy motions towards joe aggressively. No way of knowing if a court will say he was reasonable in fearing for his safety. I could see that. The drunk guy was the aggressor obviously.

Sherdog just wants Joe to ‘do the right thing’ because he ‘knows better’. But he doesn’t have to, he can defend himself just like anyone else if a drunk fuck gets in his face

That was not an "aggressive" action by any means.

He did not get into Joe's face.

He's probably really bitter that his MMA record is fucking terrible 4-6. A guy like that needs any victory he can get especially when he loses to Kato twice, once in MMA and in kickboxing, the sport he's supposed to be good at.
He's got a pretty solid kickboxing record, so i'm sure he's not that bitter.

Moving his shoulders? Or cocking a punch or lunging in an intimidating gesture...( whether it works or not isnt relevant just the action) ...

I think you do...

Have a read here... Defending yourself from a provoked physical altercation is covered...atleast here in my parts

Threat of force Equals ...Lunging and posturing a punch

No use talking to you.

Thankfully most on here are in agreement with me.

I still have some hope left for humanity.

The day I start caring about the crowd consensus in the Sherdog Heavys is the day some muscled up douchebag should sucker punch me in the face
its not about whether its the consensus. you replied with 'good argument'. all those other posts have already made the logical arguments, that you quite simply decide to ignore.

Talking out my ass here but for all the "self-defense" guys, 2 questions:

1. Doesn't the response have to match the level of perceived threat?

2. Do you think it does so here?

All of Joe's defenders on here are like "bro you don't know maybe he has a gun or knife! or.. his buddies are with him and they will all gang up on him! or.. he could be a fucking ninja assassin bro.. you don't know bro.. you don't know!"

Sherdog believes the drunk guy gets to do whatever he wants. There are no rules for him. Joe however is not allowed to leave his seat at any point during the night.

Guy is clearly unstable. Wayy too much an overreaction to something he started himself.

I think a guy like this is very angry all the time and is literally looking for confrontations, actually excuses to pound the face of the first guy who even looks at him wrong.
