Lol every court of law is going to side with the guy who was just dancing to the music. Not sure if you noticed but joe gave him a bit of a push instead of just saying excuse me to get by. So if anything joe started that altercation. He's also a trained fighter and should know how badly he can hurt a regular person by hitting them. Joe deserves an assault charge.

Not at all. I have described 3 or 4 times how that guy should have handled the situation. A simple "hey sorry" to joe after running into him would have ended it. He instead tried to act tough and it backfired.

Joe was trying to walk away when the guy called him back and moved forward toward Joe in a threatening manner. Doesn’t matter. Untrained civilians don’t get to start fights either. The fact Joe was walking away and never looked at the guy until the guy called him back will be important. Also the state they’re in will be important when it comes to the precedent for assault/self defense and where the line has been drawn.
