that guy flinching at joe doesn't meet the standard for self defense in any jurisdiction. joe wasn't in danger.
 
This is why you should carry a gun.
If two people are willing to fight then it should be done honorably. However if it’s an unprovoked attack like this one then shooting the attacker till he’s a corpse is justified.
