Never said I didn't care. Political correctness is killing society. We have a bunch of whiny liberals who bitch and cry and label everything as racist and or sexist. It's getting to the point to where you can't even open your mouth and state facts without someone calling you racist and wanting you fired from your job and publicly shamed.

How much of the issue is that after centuries of white men being able to say and do whatever they wanted as long as it wasn't to another white man, women and minorities actually have rights? Now that everyone is supposedly pseudo equal, the problem doesn't lie with the people who say or do offensive things, it's being presented as the fault of the offended for being offended.

Being anti-PC is the cool thing these days. People who are not intelligent and needs an external stimulus to feel a sense of worth, are the kinds of people to jump on the anti-PC bandwagon.

It makes them feel like they're part of an anti-culture, as if they're somehow being rebellious.

So being respectful of all cultures, different types of people, and just doing our damn best to just get along and be nice to each other, is considered "PC," then I just ask, what's so bad about PC? Don't you want people to be nice to you, your kids, your parents?

There is another more intelligent anti-PC movement. South Park did a good job this season, and people like Zizek make a decent point, which I disagree. I agree with you. But the intelligent critique of PC culture is that the dominant groups have appropriated the rhetoric of defending the oppressed as their own, thus alienating the victims and removing their own voice. It was quite clear in South Park's depiction of "frat boys" being PC. It's one way of looking at it.

I think both are incorrect. What is referred as PC culture is a step forward in mutual respect and empathy. There are extremes and instances of PC-speech that cross the line. But being an anti-PC activist without a superficial reading of the issue is a confession of poor understanding or limited cognition.

The Aldo bashing needs to stop. Aldo dominated FW for a long time, is still young, and IMO deserves absolute immediate rematch. The way Aldo is being treated is the most heartbreaking thing I've seen in MMA to date. From american and brazilian media.

I didn't know about the toxoplasmosis issue. That's a lousy reason not to travel there: cats carry that stuff all over the world. And I just checked...it's not rampant.

I'm no fan of Rogan: I think intelligence without content is a dangerous mixture. But the issue with Brazil is easy to understand. The sport was created by brazilians, and they are the only large non-american group competing. So, it's easy to turn them into enemies, or whatever. However, if you remember when Silva was in his prime, american audiences would cheer him, Rogan was riding the Silva wave: his nationality didn't matter.

They make better business by antagonising the only other large nationality in the sport: it panders to the lowest denominator and attracts hateful passionate fans. It's a shame. But I still do not see in Rogan the type of jingoism that new MMA fans are bringing to the table. My worry is that trash-talk will exacerbate anti-Brazilian sentiment. If the commentators don't give fans reality checks, it'll only get worse.
