"They did it to Vitor... random drug test. And Vitor was on testosterone," Rogan said (transcribed by Brent Brookhouse at BloodyElbow.com). "That's the reason that testosterone got banned in the first place. The whole thing went down when Vitor tested positive with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, after that. Before that, they were considering him for a testosterone exemption... And because he tested positive they scrapped the whole testosterone program."

TRT isn't going anywhere.

Of course that's why. NSAC knew they were going to have a big legal fight on their hands because Vitor was on TRT and had a failed drug test in the past. Off the record they had said they would not give him a TUE for TRT and he would have fought them for it.

They wanted to catch him and fail him before he even applied. From there, they just banned TRT outright so he couldn't even try to fight them for a TUE.

His appeal for a license coming up is going to be really interesting. I think he'll get a conditional license but they are going to test the shit out of him.

Wouldn't he be expected to fail for test if he is getting injections? Or do they mean he failed because he was over the normal limit for someone on trt?

TRT itself isn't going, but it wont be allowed in MMA

Here's the thing, Rogan says nothing about February in that quote. I thought the NSAC has a problem with licensing Vitor and allowing him to use TRT because he had tested positive for steroids in the past, which they surmise may be the cause of his low testosterone in the first place.

Isn't that what Rogan meant?

If UFC wasn't such a big company, and worth a lot of money to a lot of people, Vitor would never be granted a license to fight in Nevada again...

It's hilarious when you see how Dana fumbled his way around this whole mess. The media should be much more vigilante because nothing he stated ever added up. It's been a disaster. Dana went so bat shit trying to lie his way out of this, that he even went as far as to say fighters being totally jacked off the charts is fine if they're not fighting. It's incredible.

Dana framed the whole argument as they banned TRT that's why Vitor failed his test. NO! They banned TRT AFTER Vitor had his random test.

This TRT shit is outta control, if everyone cannot be on it, then no one can.

Appearance of a lion with gazelle like quickness brain of a mummy. :icon_lol:

Guys are still going to use. They may not be able to come into the cage sauced to the gills like before but guys are still going to do it. You canNOT stay on top without supplements once you've been a user for so long. The human body won't allow it.

No, it's not hard to take test injections and stay in range.

I hope Vitor gets all the TRT and knocks weidman the fuck out

I hear ya', but what do you honestly expect him to do?

He's trying to not make the situation look like a complete cluster*ck. He's trying to cover for Vitor, who could potentially be his middleweight champ. He was doing damage control and you can't blame him for that.

Yeah, it turned out poorly, but you can't fault Dana for lying. You know the stigma surrounded PEDs. MMA is already against a wall when it comes to the public, last thing they need is their #1 contender pissing hot and making the UFC look bad.

If he was in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB they probably wouldn't test him at all.

Sounds to me like Rogan is just saying what Vitor and Dana have already basically confirmed: That Vitor failed his drug test, but only because he tested positive for testosterone while he had yet to be issued an exemption for it.
