Joe just said that the fight was competitive and made it sound as though weidman was even winning that fight until he threw that ill fated wheel kick.

joe said in the promo:

"up until wheel kick, it was very competitive, and we saw weidman push the action and impose his pace and his determination on rockhold--that one wheel kick changed everything--that one kick that he threw".

i watched that fight, and i thought it was very clearly a lopsided win for rockhold.

had rockhold not finished him, i was expecting a few 50-44 decisions being read.

am i wrong?

was the chris winning?

was it even close?

is the chris the next "once in ever weidman" according to joe?

is chris still his father's son?

It was competitive. It was close before the kick. I think that Weidman winning the first round is totally plausible.

Although whether Weidman is still Weidman's dad's son is still up for debate.

the kick is what changed the fight -- it's just what happened, IDK why people cannot see that

Why can't Joe have an opinion without Sherdoggery assuming he's 9000% wrong?

I thought it was very competitive up till the failed kick.

the wheel kick was only thrown at 10% with a broken foot, and his worst camp ever, while not taking the fight seriously

They treat this wheel kick like he got poked in the eye or something. The guy threw a technique and got taken down and mounted. End of story.

It was competitive until what should have been the finish, as I recall...I had Weidman winning the first round and thought he was winning the 3rd (until "the kick") so I don't see anything wrong with what he says, not that it really means anything, if not the kick Rockhold may have found another way to get him down.

Chris won the first round
Lost the second
Was winning the third before the wheel kick.

If it wasn't competitive, Weidman wouldn't have been able to repeatedly take Rockhold down.

A non-competitive fight would be Anthony Pettis vs Rafael dos Anjos.

joe lacks credibility and has a penchant for hyperbole>????

also, the fight was competitive the in the sense that weidman wasnt yet knocked out, but i dont think chris had luke in any trouble, hadnt landed anything all that significant, and hadnt won a round.

It was absolutely competitive. It was 1-1 before the kick, and Weidman looked good in the third. It doesn't matter though, he threw the kick and paid for it.

It would be great if he walked right past Weidman and hugged Luke. "That's my boy!"

It was a very competitive fight, before the kick Weidman was having his best moments

But let's be real though. People get taken down all the time after poorly timed kicks and other bad decisions.

But getting taken down doesn't automatically lead to getting suddenly mounted and pounded into Bolivian...

He works for the UFC. Which is a promotion. He's paid to help promote the fights.

You lack credibility as a fan if you still don't understand this.

Jumping the shark is one Joe's exercises.

I had Chris winning the first narrowly and Cockhold the second by a larger margin.

However, I did remember thinking that Luke was beginning to feel Chris pressure in the third (I think there were a few hard body kicks from Weidman that went unanswered) and then he threw that Sean Salmonesque kick.

People make it out to be Rockhold's domination because the finish was so ridiculously brutal and drawn out, but prior to that it was incredibly competitive, a good fight and a worthy rematch.

It was a kind of even fight....then rockhold changed the momentum before the spinning kick...Rochold was winning.

I hate that rogan created this narrative that weidman was winning before the spinning kick...it's pure fucking bullshit.

The momentum had changed before that.
