Joe Rogan height megathread

How tall do you think Joe Rogan is?

He would be able to take out couture and Lidiell in their primes. That's for sure.

Also his stand up is 10× better than Bill burrs

So you don't think he earned his Blackbelt in the gi fairly? Bold statement.

No Gi is stupid anyway, and I'd like my chances against Joe there too.
I don't like gi personally but my personal bias aside, I don't think 10th planet trains in the gi, do they? He got his belt from his friend Eddie Bravo.

Why is no gi stupid?

The only one who's out of his mind in this thread is you. Lol.

If the comparison is that of Joe vs Gracie, then who the hell do you think Kimo represents? We are talking about the disparity in skill levels after all, right? This is 1+1=2 stuff dude.
Yes.
Anyone who doesn't think a 54 year old who did TKD in 1982 would beat up most of the world's population is crazy.

Are you forgetting the part where Gracie literally could not continue on to the finals because he was so physically battered and exhausted?
There are a lot more Kimos out there in 2021 then you can wrap your head around, and 5'5 Joe Rogan is not a 27 year old Royce Gracie

And you wanna talk about "Goalpost shifting" lmaoooo

No-Gi is like "Whose Line is it Anyway"
The rules are madeup and the points don't matter.

Why would he downplay his fighting ability to comedians? He absolutely could kick the shit out of every comedian he's had on the show, and when he's talking about it he's usually talking about it with regards to the general population.
constantly clueless guests on his show will say things like "when you were a fighter.." or "when youre fighting.." and he never corrects them he never says "actually i just did taekwondo & 2 kickboxing matches ive never really fought" because he loves it and wants these clueless guys to think hes a badass fighter. he just goes along with it

This strategy has served me well.
To expand on what you were asking, BJJ does come in handy in the streets (obviously).
I got jumped by a bunch of drunk guys a couple years back (almost 3 now, christ I'm getting old) and I came out without a punch landed on me. I'm also in my late 20's and in really good shape. Felt like a training session tbh.

Your average BJJ practitioner goes 3x a week, is carrying excess bodyfat and has shit cardio.
Joe trains once a week and I'd put his skill level above your average bluebelt.

BJJ is GREAT for defending yourself in a fight. You are not going to "Maul" someone with BJJ alone unless you are a top of the food chain practitioner or in amazing shape with actual fighting know-how. Most people are going to gas in a minute or so, 54 year old Joe Rogan included. BJJ is great for controlling people and the more you try and "Maul" someone as Joe loves to say, the more you're opening yourself up. Joe would know this if he had ever been in a fight.

BUT JOE WOULD KICK THE SHIT OUT OF ANY COMEDIAN BRO

So you're a black belt?

I like submission rules. Training for competition rules leads to bad habits like jumping guard and trying to fight from the bottom which is more dangerous when slams and strikes are involved.

That's Joe getting blackbelt in the gi from Jean Jacques Machado.

I"ve pulled guard in a street fight, came out fine. You just have to control someone's legs and posture.
Competition rules are based on where the most effective place to strike is. Sub Only rules lead to wayyyy more bad habits. That's why one of Eddie's best blackbelts got absolutely clowned by some noname a year or so ago.

Sub-Only rules are trash and stall-fests.

What belt are you?

I love his perspective most times, his fearlessness for spouting off on any topic.

And I'm really glad he shut down his shitty boards. They were pretty horrible.

Fucking lol at putting his skill level at 'above your average bluebelt.' I was giving your opinion a bit of extra leeway because based on your comments I thought you were a solid black belt, but this coupled with the fact that you're a purple belt, and I can confidently say you don't have the slightest clue as to what you're talking about - or are you just trolling?

Is Machado lying here?

Ashton Kutcher is a Machado brown belt.

Yes, I'm a purple belt who has no idea what he's talking about. You're right. If I were a black belt then I would be right, but unfortunately I'm just a lowly purple belt and Joe Rogan can beat up everyone because he did a striking art that involved Zero punching to head, had to quit boxing and kickboxing because he didn't like getting hit in the head and got a blackbelt from Eddie Bravo.

The collective sherdog obsession with this man is mind-boggling

The fact that you post a video of one of the top grapplers in the world rolling with a mediocre brown belt as evidence that a black belt (whom you have no experience training with and by all accounts is a very legit blackbelt) is at the level of 'above an average blue belt' is a pretty clear indication that not only do you not know what you're talking about, but you're not very good at thinking either.

Do you think Ashton Kutcher looks like a Brown belt? I don't. Neither would most people who train.

Why in the hell is it so important you and most of Joes fans that a 54 year old, 5'5 man roided to the gills who trains once a week be this super-legit uber-mensche?
BJJ is evolving. The average bluebelt in 2021 is going to give Joe problems. There are bluebelts who absolutely bully legit black belts. Cole Abate would rip Joe's knee apart if he cared to. He's above average, forsure, but this idea you have that people who are realistic about Joe's abilities "Don't know what they're talking about" is insane.

If you think i'm wrong, cool, more power to you, but I know forsure what I am talking about.
