Where is the hype around this fight? It has total violence written all over it. I really like to watch them both, Jiri with his own karateish style mixed with spinning shit and Khalil with bad ass muay thai..

Will we see a 3 round war or is someone getting stopped? Will one of them wrestle, in that case who is more likely?

It's by design. They don't promote fights. This is an all-time banger on paper.

I think Jiri has this in the bag. Khalil fights disciplined after getting traumatized by Pereira and won't capitalize on Jiri running face first into punches. Jiri by brutality.

I keep forgetting about it because it looks like whoever wins gets 3rd place at LHW right now. But it's probably one of the most exciting fights you can make with a fresh matchup right now. Still it's easy to keep in the shadows because the real #1 and 2 are fighting. Not to mention Ulberg might be next for the belt so that makes them unofficially the #4 and 5.

It could easily be the main event :)

If Jiri and Poatan win, that's not going to be great for the division. If that happens, the next shot should go to Ulberg. Should Jiri and Ank win, that would be an interesting matchup.

If Khalil wins, he has a pick of either fighter, seeing as how he would have 2 wins over top contenders, which should be enough for another TS.

LHW is best division because it is true rock-papers-scissors weight class. Jiri can absolutely sleep Ankalaev and Ulberg even if they're better on paper.

It's funny how the 3 contenders Jiri, Rountree, and Hill all lost to Pereira in 2024, then all of 2025 has been those 3 doing a round robin between them.

On one hand, it gives you a pretty secure hierarchy, but on the other, all it's going to result in is showing us who the shiniest piece at the top of the pile of recycling is.

Hopefully Ulberg is next

I loved the LHW division back then, but even you have to admit this division can't hold a candle. None of those guys were putting on stinkers like Ankalaev and Ulberg have when they won. I'll give you Jiri, Alex and maybe Rountree probably could fit the bill, but that was a division of legends forged from Pride clashing with UFC guys.

Guys like Jan, Hill, Rakic, Reyes, Volkan, (#5-9) could be washed and never win another fight again. Add in Krylov+Walker (#12-13). I don't see Alex hanging around at LHW long win or lose at this point and at his age.

So I think the division is Ank, Jiri, Ulberg, Rountree for now with a bunch of unknowns below (Murzakanov, Guskov, Menifield, Mingyang).

I dunno, to me just seems like the next LHW generation is coming, but we're going to have to wait for it.

I think LHW has hope. If some of these sloppy HWs get in shape they could be nice infusion. Jailton Almeida should come back down. Rakic is massively underrated imo and could hang with the best from any era. Big layoff against Jiri and looked good and the Ank loss can't be held against him because imo Ank is the most talented LHW since Jon Jones.

Division would be decent if UFC promoted these guys properly and more frequent fights. Inactivity is killing the division and basically being active made Pereira the star that he is. And they should bully fat HWs into fighting at LHW.

The UFC finally used some common sense when it came to building a card. This fight all but guarantees a LHW title fight on that day. Same holds true with Aspinall vs Gane. Common sense dictates that Jiri should take this, but for some reason, I think Khall comes to make a statement and surprises everyone. If Jiri comes up short in this fight, he's going to find himself in a pretty shitty spot.

If Jiri loses, he can still make middleweight. He's 210 in the cage.

Completely disagree. Jiri was toying with him. Even the commentators were talking about how Jiri had no hespect for Rakic's power.
