Jiri looked terrible tonight

I thought he looked slower. Figured he would eventually catch Alex because of age but he’s getting older as well

I don't think Jiri ever beats Alex. Wait it out. Alex is older.

Not sure what his problem is, but he wasn’t in the same shape as usual and his footwork was weird he kept falling over the place. Glad he got the W but that version of Jiri has no chance against periera. Jiri already looks washed
Couldnt handle the speed. But could take the shots

jiri isn't meant to look good against a technical counter striker like this. His purpose in this kind of matchup is exactly what he did in round 3 and that's why he's a winner and OP is a loser.
You didn’t need to throw that last part in there

Yeah he did, youre dissing a dude who gave us a great war and had an awesome come from behind victory. So you deserve to be called a loser, you dweeb.
Get ready for when Pereira kills Jiri

he always looks terrible, it's part of his charm. and then he knocks someone's head off in the third round and winds up with the win anyway. he's possibly my favorite fighter to watch, absolutely has no interest in points fighting whatsoever.

He fought a top 5 opponent who was a TOUGH stylistic matchup as Jiri is a striker and Khalil is an excellent striker who gave Poatan his 2nd hardest LHW fight...

And Jiri found a way to win via TIMBER highlight reel KO.

What exactly is the problem here?

He had to avoid getting clipped until he could get Khalil tired, which his heavy body attack managed to do.

Jiri is the most exciting fighter currently competing in the UFC
Agree

He has taken that thrown from Justin Gaethje and sits atop the "most exciting / most violent" thrown all by himself.

First time Jiri followed gameplan and he is getting hate here. - Jiri was preparing for 2+ opponents and 5 rounder fight. So gameplan was to dont get caught and finish it when Rountree slows down...

+ Jiri gained some extra weight and had lot of stuff on plate - university, new gym opening, his institution charities, etc... His whole camp was with two sparrings from Oktagon/KSW - not even champs.

His performance was great when u evaluate everything...

I think this context matters and explains a lot. Objectively he looked in worse shape than usual, and he's an extremely disciplined guy.

I really like Jiri and appreciate what an intriguing and fun guy he is in the sport, its difficult to watch him take so much damage. Khalil hits quite hard and Jiri ate so many big shots before his moment, his defense is baffling to me. I think Jiri with more traditional defense still wins these fights because his power, speed and timing are all still there.

I kept waiting for him to get clipped trying that jumping knee. Flashbacks to Arlovski vs Fedor.
