And again, after the backlash and increasing boycotting ABC/Disney brought Kimmel in to discuss his next upcoming show and asked him to tone things down/apologize and move on, but he not only refused that he told them he was actually going to double down on it. THAT is what got him fired, he's refusal to obey his boss and his doubling down on what they told him was a mistake.

This was very much Kimmel's fault.
