No Im not talking about USADA as a JDS fan i choose to stay ignorant and believe it was a tainted supplement
JDSs real problem is he fell in love with his boxing without a very good trainer he had great power and stalked his opponents as if they were already done but now that maybe the level is higher and the Cain miles are on him it doesnt go the same
His main problem is he constantly moves backwards or along the cage with his hands completely down and relies on head movement and chin that doesnt fly he moves straight backwards with no angles and his lead arm either straight forward or down and gets caught
I cant understand this why is his boxing coach not drilling this into him to please pit your hands up and make an angle it has literally ruined his career the last few fights
Overeem he was the most gunshy we have ever seen him and I really thought his power and speed + overeems chin made a pretty solid prediction but once again wrong and then the stipe rematch...

We've never seen a fighter with a glaring weakness ever fix that weakness. Look into it.

Putting his back against the fence is his enemy but he insists on doing it.

Or maybe his "problem" was that he kept taking fights in the top guys of the division, and no one wins them all. It's not like it's a steep decline, he got annihilated twice by Sea-level Cain (and spinning kicked Hunto between those blowouts), beat the crap out of Stipe, and then got knocked out by Reem. That's not that big of a deal, Reem has knocked a lot of dudes out. Then he beat a juiced up Big Ben, and got knocked out by Stipe.

I'd say his biggest downfall is that he popped. The dude's only four losses in the UFC are to Cain x2, Reem, and HW champ-mode Stipe. That's nothing to be ashamed of.

I was thinking about this as well it seems as if most fighters come into the UFC with their set strengths and weaknesses and it never really seems to change no matter the amount of training
Makes me think of when Eddie Bravo was talking about Holms BJJ be was saying no she really needs to fall in love with it be constantly in the gi taking pictures in the gi constantly on the mat to make a difference not just clocking the hours

Agreed. Also I'm not sure that training at ATT has benefited him. He came out in the Stipe fight focusing on that low calf kick instead of what brought him to the dance. He came into the UFC looking like a lion stalking his prey and in that fight he was like a worried Gazelle.

True the Cai fights are hard to watch but once again the biggest shots where when he was backing up
Im a hunto fan aswell but he was made for JDS
The big ben fight was great to watch had a lot of belief in him after that but the games past big ben hes just big 0 movement was set up for JDS to pepper him

His early fights it was as if he was just slowly and menacingly stalking with half a smile as if he already knew the outcome

50 minutes of Cain.

25 minutes of Stipe.

Testing.
Watching the first Stipe fight when he was pretty much unknown was horrible such a great clos fight and wasnt even sure if Junior would get the nod honestly after that fight i became a stipe fan and thought he would be the next generation didnt think it would come this soon though and then he would whoop Junior so soundly the next outing

Guys hit so hard at HW. Very few HW fighters will peak for long when fighting top competition.

True I think the HW division is the biggest tell tale that 4oz gloves are a big difference from boxing gloves minus all the other parts of the game (because lets be honest most KOs in HW are from the hands) in boxing there are pretty much 4 HW that dominate everyone else if every top 15 HW fought each other it would be a complete mixup

My last post i meant 4 HW in boxing and then top 15 in UFC

JDS was a juicer. I said he was juiced years ago and got flamed for it but then he popped and changed overnight as a fighter.

Rashad and Hendo were wrestlers that primarily became strikers. GSP was a striker that became a wrestler. I don't know if that counts as fixing weaknesses, but people definitely add more tools where they were deficient, and sometimes even becomes their new style.

RDA has become way more of a striker now as well

Also, Cain as mentioned above
