Wasn't justifying it, was saying that it doesn't make sense to use a diuretic as a masking agent when you're not close to the cutoff weight.

Sorry, but that makes even less sense. You said yourself he must be using the diuretic as masking agent. So he's not using it to make the cut easier: he's using it to prevent USAD to find another PED. I don't say that's the case, but your argument is irrelevant if the diuretic is a masking agent.

In my head, a masking PED is not more excusable: it is used to be able to cheat without getting caught. That's why the penalty are not softer: we can't tell if the fighter was using other PEDs, they are masked by the diuretic.

We should not excuse fighters who test positive for it. It's not a minor infraction if it's used to hide steroid use. Get it?
 
HCTZ is a water pill. Its normally for those have trouble releasing water from the body due to disease of the heart, kidneys, or liver. Its a diuretic but JDS could have used an easier to hide diuretic opposed to this old folks pill. I wonder what the real story is.

You are being silly.

If you don't ban diuretics, fighters can just use them as masking agents with impunity.

If you need a diuretic for some reason, you can still get a therapeutic use exemption, and USADA will grant it. Hell, they even give retroactive TUEs if it can be backed up medically (see: Cyborg).

There are no reasons to take a diuretic without a TUE as a pro fighter.

JDS' only valid defence is tainted supplements.

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say, no where did I say it was ok for him to cheat. All I was trying to say is that if he was to trying to cheat why use a water pill. Most people use them on a diet, but since he doesn't need to lose weight to make the cutoff it makes less sense. Like in my original post Cerrone got caught using it to try to make 155. I'm not saying cheating is ok. Just saying that cheating with a diuretic doesn't make sense. He doesn't need to lose weight. So when it's found in the test it is assumed that he was doing roids. Not saying that taking either is ok.

The thing that sucks for his defense, is that they are probably looking for something that has what he was caught with. They will then submit it as evidence, but many will still find that fishy, so he pretty much has no defense.
 
Considering he had rhabdo before this isnt surprising.
 
He's had a bit of a waterhead look for a while now. JDS needs to think about his health and use his positive attitude to inspire people, etc. No more shots to the dome bro.

Romero did it and fans gave him a pass.
Most fans don't even think Romero was using PED's, at this point.

Really? I didn't know about that, but im not a huge romero fan anyway. I still think there are many fans who think he's on something.

What about not testing for peds? Ufc was alot better when they had trt and pretended to test fighters.

I'm a Romero fan and he's the most obvious case of smart PED use in the UFC.

Anyone who thinks he's natural must have room temperature IQ.
