JDS grabbing the cage prevented the TKO?

People acted like Silva commited a national crime for holding Sonnen's shorts but are giving Dos Santos a pass for grabbing the cage multiple times to avoid going down, or to improve his position? Why is cheating ok for some but not all?

Yes it is. JDS was grabbing the cage from the moment the fight started. You can't just let fighters get away with that. He could have grabbed the cage to prevent a TD and KOed Cain in the clinch. I am glad it didn't effect the outcome, but it doesn't change the fact that it is something that needs to have stricter consequences. Just look at Aldo vs. Mendes.

Meh. Too late for a prolonged argument about a minor part of the sport. MMA has bigger issues than cage grabbing.

Aldo/Mendes is the biggest example of this I can think of. Needs to be punished more severely imo.

JDS grabbed the fence 6 times in the first round alone. Herb had to physically pry his fingers off the fence at one point, when Cain was clubbing him.

in total, he was verbally warned 5 times, grabbed the fence about 13 times. 13....Really? A lot of those times were when Cain clinched him and tried taking him down, so who knows if that prevented Cain from getting more take downs as well?
