You can’t help but feel that these guys have money on the fights. I know it’s a typical conspiracy theory type thing, blah, blah, blah…
But seriously, there are random fights, where there really isn’t much on the line, and you’ll see a ref let it go as far as they humanly can. It just screams ‘odd’. CB Dollaway one always comes to mind.
Who was the ref for that fight?I remember the CB Dolloway fight was the literal first MMA fight I randomly had my old dad watch, and he was like "This sport is. . . . .incredibly brutal". lol
As much as I can TOTALLY see this being the case, knowing those folks and the way they operate.I don't know if betting is an element for Herzy, but I would not be surprised if he was informed that the UAE warrior would be allowed every opportunity to come back and win. It seems like a very controlled environment and the crowd only gave a shit about the hometown heroes.
I know you’re being hyperbolic and sarcastic, but I get your point. Some fights it’s like they have watched a Gerald McClellan documentary the night before and they are attempting to enact the ‘protect the fighter so he can see another day’ ideology. It’s like one fight, the refs attitude is “if you can still breath, you should be able to defend yourself” while a different fight the ref is like “omg, he’s scratched, let me stop this before it gets out of hand”.

How much damage does he need to take before it’s deemed acceptable?
Are we suggesting that they pulled Herzog and the crew aside and said ‘if he dies, he dies, he will not disgrace our nation by quitting’?
This was good, I’d read this againProbably not actually, BUT....in the headcanon....Herzog had a wonderful experience in Abu Dabs and he would absolutely hate to deprive the good people a chance to see their formidable constituon and bravery reflected in the fighting spirit of the UAE warrior. The desert is a harsh place, inhospitable to life, and yet the people there survive and thrive through seemingly deadly adversity. A blind man can still delight and destroy with his striking arsenal! Imagine what a fully healthy and unmaimed fighter could come back from???? Especially one who would love to cinch his first win in the UFC in his own backyard.
This would all be communicated by a cabal of white sheets, in a most respectful manner, after upgrading herzog to the penthouse suite.
Kk shitpost concluded
Doesn’t matter how you feel about the stoppage or lack thereof, the fact there is this much variance with just a single referee is wild. Completely inconsistent across the board.
