Jared Leto's JOKER Gets a Solo Movie

I get that Leto is a pretty big draw and a JOKER film could probably get away with being super creative -- but hearing his antics on the SUICIDE SQUAD set makes me think he's going to make JOKER a nightmare production. He'd probably get stupid on-the-fly ideas and camp out in his trailer till they acquiesced. The main thing this film would need is Margot Robbie.

I wonder if they ever even spoke to Joaquin Phoenix or was that some Stallone-type BS?

Can't think of one big box office hit he's been in, let alone as the lead. Suicide Squad aside (maybe).

I haven't seen Suicide Squad so I can't comment on if I would like to see more of Leto's Joker, although it's certainly a better idea than an Joker spin-off with a different actor like they were tossing around a while back.

Even so, I don't think the Joker needs his own movie. He's a great villain, maybe the greatest in the history of comics, but he's first and foremost an enemy of Batman. At best I could go for a movie where Batman and the Joker are essentially co-leads with equal screen time. Dark Knight obviously comes closest to that.

Infinity War did it right by making Thanos the lead character. He's the protagonist of that movie really, and the heroes are the antagonists. But that doesn't mean I want a Thanos stand alone film.

I wouldn't say that bro. Joker got like 20 minutes of screentime in TDK. It's just it so completely overshadowed the other 2 hours of the film with nothing happening and Batman being a boring twat

I prefer the Burton approach where Batman is the mysterious figure in the background with the villains carrying the film

Yeah I've just looked it up and apparently he's on screen for exactly 33 minutes 10 seconds. I thought for sure it was more than that, but you're absolutely right that he overshadows everything to such an extent I could have sworn he had at least an hour.

I haven't seen those movies in a really long time, probably before Batman Begins was released in 2005. I should go back and see how they hold up. Burton made a lot of good movies in the 80's and 90's. I was always a little butthurt at the direction the series went in with Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

honestly DL, you've tagged me in so many uninteresting god awful comic book adaptations that I fear one more might cause me to roll my eyes SOOOO HARD into the back of my head, that I just might be unable to return them to their normal position and may remain a blind, perennially irritated person who will eventually collapse in on himself like a dying star



that being said, Joker vs. Riddler villain movie pls. just not written by anyone from WB or the DCEU or starring Jared Leto, or in a sepia color-tone, or constitutes 50 flashback scenes to explain its drivel

I think they should go hard R with it and do Death in the Family storyline. Have it kick off with Jason Todd getting murdered by Joker. Have him be normal Joker we are all familiar with no tats, no grill, no scars.

Then have a broken Bats find Todd and just break. Like sit in the cave and not do shit cause he's failed break.

Have who ever they plan to take the cowl from Affleck as Nightwing.

Focus the rest of the movie on Joker having reign over Gotham, amassing a huge crime syndicate and then Nightwing tearing it down.

We see him beat the fuck out of the Joker. Busting out his teeth, leaving him with the scars, etc.

Nightwing then tells Bats to fuck himself because he failed and leaves for a new city.

Leave it ending with Joker in Arkham, getting prison tats done and being more damaged then before. End with Margot Robbie getting assigned to fix the even more deranged Joker.
