Jan won clearly... he dominated the 1st round (arguably 10-8), lost the 2nd round, and then sealed a close third round with a takedown.

I can see an argument for it being a draw (by scoring the last round 10-10) but there is no argument for giving that round to Alex.
Alex did more damage in the first round than Jan did with with the heel kicks to the calf. The takedown in the third led to literally nothing and Jan couldn't stand after the fight. If you think that TD stole the round, at least I know to not take anything you say seriously again.
Jan clearly won. I had it 30-27.

Nah. Pereira won that fight. Unlike Izzy.

Jan landed more and had the td, i gave him rd 1 and 3. However he was sucking wind pretty hard, and didn't have much pop on his shots...so I'm not really surprised Alex won. Definitely not a robbery

I thought Jan won but after watching the fight again, Alex getting the nod was the right move. Alex did more damage every round than Jan. Yeah Jan had control time on the ground but if you're not doing any damage it doesn't count for much these days. Not to mention Jan looking super gassed in the 3rd round and Alex looking fresh also probably helped the judges with their decision too.

As I always say, don't leave it the judges.

NO sympathy for Jan. When it's a close fight, don't expect the judges to side with you. It's anyone game at that point. You wanted the win? Then you should have either finished Alex or put on a more dominant performance.

Embarrassing behaviour from a 40+ year old man.

Only thing robbed was Jan's breath
The way he was chugging air was embarassing for a pro athelete
Alex wasn't much better so nobody really won and LHW remains in limbo

This is terrible scoring.

The #1 criteria is damage. Jan had a brief (tens of seconds) positional advantage in the last round and scored zero damage. He was getting tagged with the cleaner, harder shots in that round. It would be moronic to give Jan the third round.

Regarding a 10-8 first round, he needed to posture up and land some strikes. He repeatedly went for the same submission he didn't have and just sat on him for most of the round. You need to actually hurt your opponent, a long positional advantage isn't a 10-8 round.

Jan let a winnable fight get away from him because he was terrified of taking risks. So be it.

People are just saying no because they'd rather see Pereira in title fights, same reason UFC robbed Jan.
UFC is a popularity contest. BMF belts. Rushed turnarounds for unpopular champions like Sterling versus O'Malley. Pushing strikers against strikers to allow Pereira to quickly rise to the top and face Adesanya. Letting Covington rank squat eternally. It is a joke at this point and only getting worse.

If Jan had threw some heavy gnp the last 30 seconds he probably would have won, but he didn't so he lost the fight. Getting a takedown and lnp 30 seconds to the end of the fight doesn't win the round.

Submission attempts should count the same as any little strikes
If it’s all about damage now, I’d be eye poking a mofo to death lol

Utah sucks and robbed us of a better fight, but that’s the fight game. You never know what you are going to get come fight time.
Way she goes, bring on the next one…

I rewatched the fight earlier today. 1 obviously went to Jan, and Alex pretty clearly stole the 2nd in the final 45 seconds.

Round 3 was close, although the biggest moment came when Alex landed a piston of a jab on the money. It clearly stung Jan and caused him to start backing up.

Its just amazing to think that these guys are in, or close to their 40's, that's just unheard of in the lower weight classes, yes you might get the odd one, but not a few like in the LHW or HW divisions.

Funny how Jan thinks his fight against Anks was just a close fight but not a robbery by any means. Now, another fight he lost but the judges got it right this time, the judges are bunch of thieves...

Pereira won because he had the better poker face. That's all there is to it.
