Crime Jan 6 feelings

When do we hold hearings for the riots? That produced murder of cops and other. That produced arson and tearing down monuments? When trashing police cars and businesses? Billions in damage and lives ruined but not a peep.
Why is this? One side is soooo fearful of the guy "that can't win" that they've made this about more than it was.

That’s not MAGA man?

Were any of the police injury claims substantiated? I know one pulled a hammy opening the door too quickly…

i'm sure SOME were substantiated. but 130 seems sus.

On the plus side, they're just going to embarrass themselves revealing absolutely nothing we didn't already know, as they desperately try to sell some conspiracy theory of this spur of the moment riot, being some organized coup attempt. It's going to be a bigger wet fart, than the Mueller hearings, and all they're really going to accomplish is pissing people off that they, yet again, wasted untold millions on some ridiculous investigation to prove absolutely nothing other than their unhinged obsession with Donald Trump, while the country spirals into a recession.

At least we'll probably get to see Kinzinger cry again.

This thread in a nutshell:

"People storming the capitol building to stop the certification of a presidential election at the direction of their losing candidate isnt a big deal, I mean sure they assaulted police, multiple people died and they set up a gallows outside... but the real problem in this country is when some people burned down a Wendy's and looted boutique stores"
Had I read this post before I commented you'd have saved me the trouble.

So there were cops getting beat with flagpoles, knocked out with punches, squished in a doorway, etc... and all you recall was a pulled hammy? <puh-lease75>

donald trump lost the election. unless you're a maga muppet thats going to cry about it your orange messiah losing the election for the rest of your life and scream fraud everywhere outside of a courtroom,, there's really not much to be felt.
When Biden/Harris lose next election I am eager to see the left admit it was fair and square. You will do that right?

LOL! What we all knew? So you knew both the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys' leaders and members plotted to disrupt the certification and even floated the idea of getting firearms from across to river to prepare for a violent uprising?

Lol at the spineless people defending the insurrection. These same trolls won’t post their workouts let alone their faces. I’m guessing their probably fbi agitators at this point.
A very stupid insurrection indeed if no one even bothers to bring a gun.

It was a plot for a soft coup. The fact that most of the people breaching the Capitol had no idea they were being manipulated doesn't mean the ringleaders shouldn't be charged with sedition.

What's the difference between a soft coup and a hard coup?

all treasonists and terrorists should be hung. even the domestic ones. there is no excuse for violence. especially against your own country.

How about if they happen to hold public office and knowingly go against the Constitution?

A soft coup, sometimes referred to as a silent coup, is a coup d'état without the use of violence, but based on a conspiracy or plot that has as its objective the taking of state power by partially or wholly legal means, to facilitate an exchange of political leadership and in some cases also of the current institutional order.

They didn't want to get met with stiff resistance as evidenced by the fact they all tried to fly back home quietly and pretend nothing happened. Imagine the response if they had shown up armed to the teeth and fired at police.

Well, probably the cops would have run ( or quickly lost because they were outnumbered) and they'd have control of the building.

but but but what about

what about

what about?

what about?

trump lost. get over it chud.

It's really not whataboutism to try to arrive at a point of clarification and agreement on the standard.

We're on the brink, here. We really do need to get back to a sense of clear standards, expectations, and boundaries for all, or this whole thing is going to fall apart.

The level of concern any particular person has about the Jan 6 protest illuminates their malleability more than anything.

Anyone convinced that was actually an insurrection could likely be convinced of just about anything.

Do you think they can be convinced about Trump winning the elections?
<{outtahere}>

Well... exactly.

And yet, if you make the obvious observation that "people on both sides are stupid" you get lambasted by people of both sides for "bothsideism" and "false equivalencies."

There's nothing false about making equivalencies between any person who believes Trump won that election but it was stolen by mysterious dudes at midnight arriving with boxes of fraudulent ballots in white vans and any person who thinks an organized thousands strong coup tried to take over the government on Jan 6 but forgot to shoot anyone before just wandering off prior to nightfall.

These are equally stupid takes. Don't like it? Then stop being so stupid.

I watched a lot of video about Jan 6th. I watched a lot of videos the MSM and their big tech silenced regarding why/how the crowds were pushed to the front and encouraged to enter open doors.

I'll be very clear. The pieces of utter fucking shit who used violence and that weak ass individual that used a poll to hit a cop should face the full extent of the law. I saw less than a handful of violent incidents... Far less than what we saw for three years in major cities endorsed and incited by the same congress but I digress.

Another part everyone seems to forget is that the largest faction of the field trip larpers stopped the sporadic violence.
