Movies James Gunn's SUPERMAN (New Trailer on Wednesday)

The more I watched the teaser, the more I'm loving the scene where Supes is badly beat up that he had to call Krypto for help and to take him home. That's also something new and unexpected for a Superman movie.

I have to admit, when Supes hits the ground and starts coughing up blood, my first reaction was,

Oh, great. Another, "dark" Superman movie.

But then I lol'd when Krypto turned up.

I really, really hate trailers. This one gave up a HUGE moment in the first few seconds, and then another a few seconds later.

Well, I pretty much got exactly what I expected in that. This feels like fucking Superman Returns all over again, and I think it will be a hard-sell to the casual comic book fans. I don't believe James Gunn was the guy to give DC their version of Kevin Feige. Did the studio execs even watch Gunn's version of Suicide Squad???

Should have just let the animated department game plan it and had the real-life director(s) answer to them, lol.

Well that is basically what it is.

These movies are not really for the generations of people who grew up watching earlier versions. They are for the youngins who are seeing this material mostly for the first time, at least as first run theatrical release.

I cannot recall which reimaging was talked about prior on this forum but the sherdogger said 'it was ok but brought nothing unique or new to the table the prior did not' but their kid was like 'this was fantastic' as they had not seen the original, at least not in a big theatrical release.

I'm not a Superman fan.
Anyways considered to be completely overpowered, and he's too much of a boyscout.

That said, I really enjoyed Henry Cavill in the role, and I consider Man of Steel to be in my Top10 favorite comic book films.

So, my take on the new trailer... I didn't know what to think about a James Gunn Superman film, and I still don't know what to think about a James Gunn Superman film.

For me the most intriguing aspect about the trailer is...

Very underrated actor.

I think it looks good. But it is just a teaser. The movie could easily turn out to be mid.

I only watched the first few episodes of season one of Superman and Lois. But I did watch the series finale and I like the touching prologue.
