both Alvarez and Page gave Perry trouble with basic boxing
factor in Paul will be bigger and younger so that should help him take any of Perrys big power shots

factoring how the gloves will take away some of the norepunishing aspects of Perrys punches Is worrisome for him as well. they should remove a lot of the penetrating power of his punches and the ability to cut opponents so easily

conversely the gloves should protect Paul's hands so he can throw high volume big power and not have to worry

if Paul has been improving his game and fights with a job and decent punch diversity he should batter Perry around the ring

I don't doubt Perrys willingness to take a savage beating for a paycheck though so it could go the distance

Mike Perry couldn’t beat Mike Tyson if had the flu , you guys are absolutely insane if you think Tyson cannot be more effective then a guy who really can’t box at all and you’ll see that if he fights Jake bc I’ve seen them fight already and it was a complete mismatch where Perry even admitted he got his ass kicked and that was three years ago bf Jake could even box at a level he’s at now .

If the fight were held today he'd lose for failing to answer the bell. Because he's physically incapable of competing now. A boxer can only "demolish" his opponent if he shows up to the fight.

That's not to say he isn't technically superior to either man on paper. Roy Jones is better on paper than Anthony Pettis and Holyfield is better than Vitor Belfort as well.

But Mike Tyson is not competing in this match because time is linear and merciless. That's the thing you're missing and it's a pretty big deal. I know that's an ugly truth but it's a fact.

A savage beating? Jake fights a boring, low volume game and might sit somebody down with a big overhand. He’s not someone that lands a lot or does tons of damage. Most likely a boring match.
