Adesanya got lucky (finally), against Pereira, after two failed attempts in kickboxing, and after being dethroned in the UFC — and now Adesanya "doesn't want to face Pereira again" ... so we have to watch him face the comical dunce and Shawn Strickland???

Pereira is in a different division, and scheduled to fight Jiri, so that rules that out. And du Plessis won't be ready for 293, which the UFC really wanted Izzy on. Strickland is just a stay busy fight.

While Charles was a good opponent, he was a multi-loser and a multi-quitter, and quit again to Islam. And, don't forget, Islam's "previous" opponent was Bobby Green <45>

By contrast, Alex Pereira defeated Israel Adesanya who only had one loss (at a higher weight division, against The Champion, that went to a decision) — and then Pereira's previous opponent was Sean Strickland, undefeated middleweight, on a 5-win winning streak.

If you pull out the ol' microscope, and analyze, Pereira's competition was much better than Islam's. Charles' previous opponents were recent multi-losers, while Adesanya's previous opponents had much better winning streaks.

In the end, Adesanya was a tougher opponent than Charles, and Strickland was a tougher opponent than Bobby Green.

Beating the #5 ranked guy by KO in the first round is also a huge accomplishment. Not to mention being the only guy, in any way division, to knock Strickland down or out.

IMO, he doesn't even deserve to be at Top-10 contender.

At best, Strickland deserves to face the shell of Robert Whittaker.
At worst, Strickland deserves to be below the Top-10.

An ugly man, no KO power, no real savvy — and even his "attempted online persona" is almost the very definition of LAME.

Israel Adesanya is at the twilight of his career.
He's beaten everybody in his division — except getting KO'd by Pereira — which he avenged (while getting the shit beaten out of him) with a fortuitous series of tactical right-counters.

Without those, he would've lost to Pereira again ...

To put a peeking, World-Class Athlete like Adesanya against a veritable dud, like Strickland, is a waste of Adesanya's time + potential.

Yeah, hard too see what Sean has against Izzy...all he can do is hope to put him on his back because his Lead leg will be a pinata day, and Sean's style is a field day for counter strikers, and the fact his foot work is the opposite of Izzy...like Sean can take the mic and entertain but in the cage...he better just take him down if he has a chance but he only takes people down who let him get close which Izzy is not that guy...I am not really interested in the fight...but the shit talk will be Sean's highlight...but the fight won't lol...poor guy.\


He will be able to tell us the Power of Alex vs the Speed of Izzy that will probably crack a punch on top of Sean's head that will finish him.
