Sorry, but Sean Strickland is a putz.

Doesn't belong in any conversation of "quality fighters."
In no universe has he earned the right to a title shot.
IMO, he doesn't even deserve to be at Top-10 contender.

At best, Strickland deserves to face the shell of Robert Whittaker.
At worst, Strickland deserves to be below the Top-10.

An ugly man, no KO power, no real savvy — and even his "attempted online persona" is almost the very definition of LAME.

Israel Adesanya is at the twilight of his career.
He's beaten everybody in his division — except getting KO'd by Pereira — which he avenged (while getting the shit beaten out of him) with a fortuitous series of tactical right-counters.

Without those, he would've lost to Pereira again ...

To put a peeking, World-Class Athlete like Adesanya against a veritable dud, like Strickland, is a waste of Adesanya's time + potential.

In no universe does Sean Strickland deserve the title fight.
IMO, he "barely deserves" to still remain in the UFC ...

Whatever, Dricus is not ready, so I guess let Strickland bang.

Izzy is an insufferable clown but I do respect the fact that he fights often and doesn’t pick his opponents. Stricklands chances are small, but he’s got at least as much of a shot as Cannonier, Vetori, Whitaker, and anyone else not named Alex Pereira, anyone has a chance, and it will still be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Kickboxing > MMA

There is no middleweight "MMA fighter" who has a snowball's chance in hell of beating Adesanya ...

Which is laughable, because Adesanya could never make Champion as a Glory Kickboxer...

The only middleweight MMA fighter who beat Adesanya = the former Glory Middleweight Kickboxing Champion, Alex Pereira.

Adesanya got lucky (finally), against Pereira, after two failed attempts in kickboxing, and after being dethroned in the UFC — and now Adesanya "doesn't want to face Pereira again" ... so we have to watch him face the comical dunce and Shawn Strickland???

It's a circus show.

In no way is Strickland "elite" AT ANYTHING ...

In no universe does he deserve a title shot.

Dricus beats Izzy

Always kills me inside that no one mentions romero getting robbed by adesanya, I know this isn’t relevant but you say he’s beaten everyone in the division but no one gives yoel the credit he deserves, should have gotten a trilogy with rob, I think their second fight was a draw and definitely warranted a third fight, then he beats adesanya and gets robbed and all people talk about is the fight being boring when it really wasn’t that bad, pain…

I'm not personally excited about the matchup, Strickland is far too slow, and doesn't block leg kicks enough. I just think Adesanya is gonna leg kick him like crazy and win a unanimous decision. Lots of leg kicks and some body kicks and the odd head kick every now and then, and Strickland is too slow and flat footed. He is tough and I think he won't get finished but will lose a clear decision. I just can't get out of my mind how Cannonier leg kicked him so easily and he was clueless to stop it and Cannonier is nearly 40 years old and that fight was only 7 months ago.

I was rooting for Romero, but he didn't push the envelope.

Romero has talent, physical attributes, but he is a lazy POS, who doesn't floor the pedal to the metal when the time is called for.

Romero deserves to be a non-champion, because he doesn't have a True Champion's mentality.

He is a talented failure/dud, always a disappointment when the money's on the line.

Strickland was Poatan's biggest win before earning a titleshot.

Ok, that is just plain bullshit. No he's not the #2 MW in the world but he's easily among the top MW in the UFC

Izzy has to fight someone and Strickland is next in line (except for DDP, yeah) so here we are.

And he's clearly got talent. It's actually educational to watch his defense and his counters. Izzy is very technical too of course and It might be an interesting fight, as long as it lasts, since Strickland doesn't seem to have the sense to go for takedowns against all-standup fighters.

Strickland more or less got robbed against Jerad, and Jerad went 5 rds with Izzy. Sean deserves it and I think he'll do alright. And you said he's not savvy, the guy makes people look like fools. That's just a silly statement.

You're the one full of shit.

Strickland has 0 talent.

He is not an elite striker
He is not an elite grappler
He is not an elite wrestler

Strickland literally excels AT NOTHING ...

He's a mouthy fuck, with barely passable skills, and that's all that he is.

Strickland is not Champion caliber, and he never will be.

This fight is a waste of everybody's time + money, ONLY BECAUSE Adesanya does not ever want to face Pereira again ...

That fight made me like romero a lot more becuase he got robbed, I don’t think he got robbed becuase I like him.

Remember when you justified Periera's title shot by calling him (Strickland) a legitimate Top 5 fighter? I do.

You're still going to watch it, TS

Imagine if we got Izzy-Khamzat instead - sure Khamzat has done nothing lately to deserve it and his Gilbert fight made him look beatable but it's elite grappler versus kickboxer known for his lack of grappling skill

And Khamzat hasn't been doing anything either so he should be ready to go

In a sea of duds, Strickland was among the pathetic group of the "Top 10.

But he is not a legit title contender.

Do you have the wherewithal to comprehend the difference?
