Izzy reminds me of Gustafsson; good TDD, and very hard to stabilize on the ground, but once you manage to stabilize him on the ground, he is clueless

That's how Alexander Gustafsson was too. Hard to take down, hard to stabilize , but once you do, he is completely clueless. Izzy's TDD isn't even that great, but he is VERY hard to stabilize, but if you do stabilize him on the ground, you can have your way with him.

Dricus could've finished Izzy much much earlier in the fight. I was screaming at the TV. Instead of getting his hook back in, he went for the choke and rolled off of Izzy. Position before submission for a reason.

We already knew thIs from the Jan fight.
He was clueless off his back.

Adesanya was quick quick to tap today.

Prime Gus would've slapped Izzy silly.

Even vettori managed to take his back on the ground and almost take his neck like DDP did.

Wasn't Izzy was sort of flattened out and DDp was going for the choke with back mount? Sorta hard to get the hooks in from there. He was going for the choke when Izzy burst up and didn't get enough time to get the hooks.

He had both hooks in and lost one of them, he had plenty time to get it back but went for the choke beforehand, that's what I saw at least.

Most the new wave of MMA fighters train like this… it’s like they put all their time and resources on takedown defense and solely banking on it instead of fully learning grappling the proper nuances on both offense and defense.

Rob is similar. He looked clueless after Dricus got him down and was nearly a GNP TKO finish. Rob has some of the best TDD ever.

Lyoto had better BJJ and mat skills than others named ITT but he also wasnt great on the ground.

Most of the best elite TDD fighters are bad on the ground I don't think thats a coincidence.
