Absolutely it is. Adesanya is not particularly at risk.
Oh, ok. I guess we'll all have to take your word for why someone with 115 professional fights is not particularly at risk of CTE.

Because he took almost no damage in almost all of them.Oh, ok. I guess we'll all have to take your word for why someone with 115 professional fights is not particularly at risk of CTE.

I'm certainly not saying that he should keep fighting indefinitely. I just think he has more than earned the right to go out on his own terms.Lol @ everyone talking about how good he looks when losing by knockout.
He should retire TS. I agree with you. He might win another fight or two but I think continuing to get wrecked is just as likely. I've seen this tape many times before.
Recency bias is real with a fighter at the end of there career on a 3 fight skid and 4 and 1 over the last few years. He's aging and getting worse there's no changing that and the fact that the UFC build names off there aging stars I don't see things getting any better.Happy endings in combat sports are rare, sure. But Adesanya could easily have a decent career for a few more years.
The doom and gloom is mostly recency bias.
I agree it's a hard fall from the top. Those are all vastly different careers.
Aldo was on TOP. CONSISTENTLY. For a LONG time. Usually guys like that, after they finally lose, cant continue to fight at the level Aldo has been able to. This is why I bring him up as his and Izzy's situation was similar, but its very rare for guys in Izzy's position to stay motivated enough to pull off what Aldo did in the past decade.
Aging fighters who try and fight like they used to is exactly why they suffer those bad losses. He was winning until he wasn't. But that's basically the story of a lot of these aging former champions.
The reflexes are not there anymore and he will be more prone to these types of results.
Fair enough. He's not the fighter he once was, certainly.Recency bias is real with a fighter at the end of there career on a 3 fight skid and 4 and 1 over the last few years.
