Izzy by Sub

Could possibly happen. Alex has been training with Glover who has a pretty good sub and ground game though.
The "he trains with [insert name]" argument has always been terrible logic. You realize every UFC fighter trains with bjj black belts, right?

That being said, it seems pretty unlikely that Izzy pulls of a submission. Diving for subs seems like a good way for him to get flatlined.

what is your prediction then

I think Israel might try that route if the opportunity arises like last minute of a round or something. It would be the biggest fail for him to try it and get knocked out though. I do feel that Israel does have an advantage in the grappling because Alex is just so new at it.

In the end it's MMA and weird things have happened. We never expected Francis to become a grappler for his last fight.

your pushing your luck with this account
He should be fine in the Heavies. He got in trouble for using the other F word in another forum. I am actually waiting for his doubles to come off so he can go back to posting homoerotic threads in the other forums.

The point is it's one of his main sparring and grappling partners plus he's teaching Pereira grappling. It matters lol. Most people may train at the same location as bjj black belts or something, but not really having intense grappling rolling sessions with them, so of course those don't really matter unless they are actually having hard sparring sessions or having intense grappling sessions with them.

Jan overpowered and controlled Izzy. Glover took down and submitted Jan. Pereira trains with Glover who is a better/stronger grappler than Izzy. So if Izzy were to try and do some offensive grappling, Pereira would be used to grappling with someone stronger and better than Izzy. Training with high level fighters makes a huge difference, especially if it's hard sparring and intense grappling sessions. Only way to really experience that skill level first hand is through those intense training sessions in the gym and in fights.

I mean you're technically right, I don't understand the conclusion though. By that logic, If Izzy trained with Glover before the Jan fight, Jan wouldn't have been a threat to him ?!
There's layers to this shit player. Tiramisu. Just because Pereira knows how it feels to get handled, doesn't mean he's immune to it.
Also this whole debate is pointless because Izzy is great at moving away, not at closing in. He just doesn't do takedowns. He barely clinches. He moves out and not in. It's just not worth it, taken his striking and his wrestling pedigree into consideration.

Pereira probably has better BJJ and better wrestling, I'm quite confident of that.

Israel will never submit someone in his MMA career IMO. I think Pereira won't make it look easy or anything but he's going to put Izzy out cold then get wrestlefucked by Whittaker.

He wouldn't be trying to double leg him, pass guard, take the back, and choke him out. It would probably be in a scenario where Alex is hurt and tries to hold on to get the cobwebs out.

If Izzy trained with Glover before fighting Jan he would've trained and grappled with a stronger and better grappler. So that would help him when he's fighting a weaker and lower level grappler compared to Glover. So if Izzy got to a point where Glover couldn't hold Izzy down, then Jan wouldn't be able to hold Izzy down. Get the concept?

Yeah it would've been better to put the majority on the most likely outcome and not the least likely outcome. Decision is probably the highest percentage in being correct if Izzy did win. Smaller bet on the submission, with the odds the pay out would still be high. He's risking most of his money on the least likely outcome. It's a hail mary but the other bets should be increased to hedge his bets.

Yeh, I couldn't be bothered going into it, but that's exactly how I'd have bet on it if I was betting on this fight.
