I have terribly impacted wax, hair and sand combo. Thick coarse hair and i shave my head. Boogieboard shorebreak regularly. Worst feeling ever. The last P.A I went to made that shit worse. I need to find an Asian doc who specializes in that shit like those videos. Maybe head into Koreatown and see what I can find.

I read all the scam shit and did a test for myself.

The woman really likes my to do her ears, maybe I should do a “debunking the debunking of ear candles” video using her(no body wants to see me with a candle in my ear) and post it to YouTube.

Think about it logically.
It does not produce any heat in the ear. How does it melt the wax and wick it up the candle?

I’ve used them and the do work, I’ve heard all the bullshit about them being fake etc but I think it’s user error for the complainers.

To solve this riddle for myself as people claim they don’t work I burned one by itself on the counter, cut it open and looked inside , nothing.

Then I used one, burned it in my ear down to the stopping point, cut it open AND Drum roll







There was a FUCK TON of ear wax in it.

Small amounts of heat transfer from the burning candle into the ear, you can feel the warmth.

The burning of the cylindrical candle creates a upwards draft, a vacuum if you will and pulls the wax into it.

I was skeptical too after having them recommended by friends, read all the internet “debunking “ stories and tried it for myself.

I don't think ear wax is so light to be sucked up by a candle's heat and need for oxygen for the flame. I don't think wax attracts wax like a magnet either.

When I put hydrogen peroxide on minor cuts on hand, it leaves a white residue. I wouldn't want that reacting with ear wax and staying in my ears.

Well it does, it heats it up and loosens it then the vacuum from the oxygen draw pulls it into the candle.

I didn’t believe in it either until I tested it.

Fuck it they are cheap, go buy a three pack.

Cut the first one in half, then slit the two halves longways look in side.

Light the second one and let it burn down 3/4 of the way, cut it open longways and look inside.

Take the third one and use accordingly, cut it’s remainder longways and you will be shocked at all the ear wax in it.

Either the science works, despite your disbelief in it, or each one is cursed my a witch and the ear wax magically climbs up in there.

One of the two, you decide which one you believe in more, I don’t give a fuck , but they do work.

So I've always been one to regularly clean my ears - sometimes with Q-tips but often with an earpick like below. Anyways, it seems to be getting out of hand for me as lately I have been cleaning my ears multiple times a day! I barely even get any notable flakes of earwax anymore but I still scratch about with my earpick thinking I'm gonna find something hidden there

I think it is becoming a problem!! Any other Sherfellows have a similar addiction?

I kinda do a little, I work as a Mason so I'm around a lot of cement dust, dirt, sand. Etc. I catch myself cleaning them a lot and it ventured into me cleaning them during the weekends even when I'm not working. I'm around salt water so I usually take a dip in the water after il done with work. What's worst is my left ear has a little bit cauliflower so I have dig a little harder to clean.

I'm Filipino/Spanish mix so my ear wax comes out flakey, I think there was a research where your race is connected to what kinda of ear wax you produce.
