I use the long slender part of a pen cap and it feels awesome. Was just thinking about cleaning (scratching) my ears when I came across this thread.

Q-Tips religiously after my daily shower. My wife yells I go too deep.

Because if you stick them in too far you can damage your ear drum.

You can push in and pack wax in that would fall out on its own if you didn’t pack it in also and then have to go get your ears professionally cleaned so you can hear again.

I'm also addicted to q-tips and I also use the peroxide drops once a month. I spent thousands on my home and car audio so i get paranoid that wax buildup might affect my hearing and not allow me to take advantage of my quality speakers.

My dumbass should just see an ENT and have them take a look but I'm too lazy.

Watch some intriguing youtube vids. Some have yellow or brown or black tar gooey wax. Some have off white relatively dry flakes of wax. With the otoscope camera, you can clearly see the shiny eardrum dome all the way at the back. Don't poke that.

My ear felt like and sounded like I had some crunchy build up in there, but with the camera, I couldn't see any aside from a few bits of small wax on the walls.

To solve this riddle for myself as people claim they don’t work I burned one by itself on the counter, cut it open and looked inside , nothing.

Then I used one, burned it in my ear down to the stopping point, cut it open AND Drum roll







There was a FUCK TON of ear wax in it.

The woman really likes my to do her ears, maybe I should do a “debunking the debunking of ear candles” video using her(no body wants to see me with a candle in my ear) and post it to YouTube.
