Its not too dissimilar to boxing. Lower divisions didn't get a look in until the likes of Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao and Marquez. People had only really started grooving towards WW and LW. FW and BW took off for me. Then you had Vasquez and Raf Marquez fights etc. God I miss those days.

I’ve never been a big fan of the fw division but that’s just because every fight seemed the same. Fig has changed that for me tho. Doesn’t mean I’ll watch every fw fight now, it just means a fw finally came along that made the division interesting.
