Rampage was entertaining but he played the sambo card as well. He and Derek Lewis both would say and do things that were both funny and humiliating at the same time. The played the buffoon part well.

Anderson Silva is a God to many and it’s almost entirely because of his skills rather than any antics or “part”. Aldo gets HUGE love on here, even in his less exciting years. Mighty Mouse literally has a cult following.

Pereira is currently the most popular fighter. Even angry Sherdoggers like him. Top skills and seems like a good guy.

Same for non-champs too. MVP was getting a lot of props this past weekend. I hardly saw any negative comments. Just today there’s an entire thread of people defending Rozenstruick for being cut by the UFC. And I could go on with the examples…

Honestly it has to do with personality and how fighters are comfortable with themselves. I always got the vibe that Izzy is just awkward with who he is, and does things accordingly, so people respond (negatively) to that.

Perhaps when it’s someone that we look like, we subconsciously tend to be a bit more forgiving, like some are with Colby or Izzy.

Sure. But then you go on to say he got magically lucky in his ufc run as well. Like pure kickboxing based fighters all have this incredible run in the UFC. Did he fight bums in the UFC?

not magically but lucky run.
he never looked like a worldbeater,look at his fight against Romero for example. that was one of the most boring fights in UFC.
anyway, as I said you can keep on loving him , I just don't feel the same way you about him that's it
