Media Islam says beating Featherweights do nothing for his career but still willing to fight Illia

Might want to shoot that look in the mirror and maybe try reading a little slower since you seem to be having trouble. Nobody told you he couldn't, I told you multiple times that he could if he had said no to Volk, then said no to Poirier, and specifically asked for the guy who is PPV poison and had just gotten 30-27'd by Dariush and went to split decision with Jalin Turner in the 12 months prior.

They already told you what happened, and it wasn't calling Islam and saying "who do you want", beacuse if the UFC wanted Gamrot, they wouldn't have called Volk or Poirier in the first place, unless you're claiming Islam turned down Gamrot and told them to call Volk out of nowhere, but for some reason they stil paid Gamrot to weigh in as backup at the event after Islam said he wouldn't fight him?

Gamrot was paid to go to the event and make weight in case one of the fighters couldn't. Charles pulled out just under 2 weeks before, so the UFC had some more time to call some bigger names. Dana called Ali and told him Oliveiera was out and they were looking for a replacement, Islam told Ali he didn't care who the replacement was, so Volk said yes and they signed it and Dana called Islam directly. He didn't even know who else they called until after he'd already signed.

Had he fought Gamrot that day, I swear these guys would say that Islam avoided Volk, because he "struggled" during the first fight and was afraid. I'm 100% confident about that. <WhatItIs>

im honestly down to see this fight

Ilia is a tough opponent for even LW, in fact I see him beating most of the current top 10 ranked LW

Whats the obsession with career and "legacy"? . Lol was a prime Wanderlei concerned with his "resume" ? Lol its so sus

First off you can't /thread yourself

secondly Illa has KO'd both Max and Volk now I think it's safe to say he's proven. He also already has one KO win in the UFC LW division as well that does not hurt his argument. I do believe Illa should have to get at the very least 3 or 4 more defenses (depends how quick he can do it) before he gets a LW title shot.

Then, essentially, you're agreeing with my point.

Gamrot - ranked LW who has been in camp as the official backup

Poirier - 10 days notice ranked LW who we later found out simply training with Gamrot gave him a fighting chance against Islam when they did fight

Volk - 10 days notice post surgery undersized FW Islam's already beaten and knows how to prepare for and fight

Wow, how did he possibly chose Volk???
lol the UFC picked Volk
Have you heard who is doing the matchmaking? Dana White? Hunter Campbell? Sean Shelby? Ring a bell?
Gamrot is not even a star in Poland

Volk WAS on a run like that though. He was headed for fw goat. And Islam essentially ended his career from the looks of it. And Islam got no credit whatsoever which sort of proved to me that it's never worth it for the bigger guy.

because he ended it on a 10 days notice fight fresh off surgery. he didn't end it with a fully prepared animal ready to go.

Makhachev is not picking who is headlining a PPV. Nice try.

Islam: You have to say thanks to me. I can choose any other opponent. We have Gamrot, we have Poirier, everybody is ready to fight for the belt. But I give you for the second time a chance. Just say ‘thank you’, that’s it.

The topic title is a lie. He doesn't want to fight Topuria, but he will obey if the UFC tells him to. A hater's topic created to denigrate Islam, our greatest champion.

Still though. It's not islams fault it was short notice. And he beat him twice and you see people on here making excuses why both wins don't count. It would have been better for islams legacy if he beat any two top ten ranked lws instead.

People then would've been shitting on Islam for 'ducking' Volk.
