Jones is undefeated in multiple weight classes and has double-digit title defenses in one of them. And yes, he's only fought once in the past three years, but that fight was above his natural weight class and he was every bit as dominant (or more) as he's ever been.
Jones having only one win in the last 3 and a half years is unfortunately an issue if he wants to be pound-for-pound number one, according to the UFC now.
Also, was that fight above his natural weight class? 205 pounds is no longer his natural weight class. He spent over 2 years bulking up to heavyweight. Even though a significant part of his career was in the 205-pound weight class, the move to heavyweight and the physical adaptation to compete in that weight class suggest a shift in his natural fighting weight.
Jones is a natural heavyweight at this point in his career.
Which heavyweights do you actually think (and I mean actually, not just wishful thinking like people have with Pavlovich) would beat him? And I don't mean which fighters have a "chance," because everyone's got a chance. Which fighters would you actually bet on if they were matched up against Jones?
I don't have enough footage to assess how good Jones is at heavyweight. We've seen him compete for a little over 2 minutes there, so there are fights in which I wouldn't be confident in either fighter winning. A fight against Ngannou or Aspinall would be interesting.
