Islam had a horrible weight cut

This is factual.
What's missing though is weighing 190lb is not as effective when you had to weigh 155lb 24h before.

Maybe, but I know this, part of Volk’s qualities is speed, movement, I’m almost more comfortable with Islam packing on a bunch of weight because he might be a plodding, but denser opponent who throws people in a clinch…. Islam never relied on speed, ever, he’s not a shooter, but a sweeper, clincher.

Volk adding 15 pounds after weigh in, might slow him down enough where a powerful weapon (speed) is compromised. It’s possible, but probably not, Volk will probably be ok movement wise. Just sayin’, it can go both ways.

The time is not on his side. 24-30hrs is not enough time to recover from that kind of dehydration. He can still make it to that point that he will be the stronger athlete at fight time. But to be 100%, is not possible.

I agree, but I don’t think Islam needs to be 100% to beat Volk, Islam uses his size well because he’s a lifetime grappler, but yes, at a fundamental level, 30 hours or whatever can’t be helping Islam, but taking away some advantages of being bigger.

Volk’s camp knows speed n endurance r his advantages. He stick n move and try to avoid clinching or leaving a single TD open. Getting both sweaty will help Volk too. Volk will be darting around range trying to keep pace high. Islam will do opposite , patiently find a chance to get a hold of Volk or counter strike. Islam can punch too with almost no concern Volk will try to take him down.

Islam looked smaller and flatter than ever on the fight night. Just compare his condition to the Oliveira fight.
Horrible weight cut, first time really needing to make weight, no time to rehydrate and that’s result. Abu Dhabi scales really excist.
