Islam had a horrible weight cut

It's weird that they all keep doing it.

Like, "I am athlete, I train, I compete, also, I fuck my health before every match."

Most UFC fighters are glad to have their jobs. That's why a fighter's union for pay has never gained traction.

However, you'd think a fighter's union for "no more stupid weight cut paradigm" would be easy to achieve.

I see, it has started. The nervous sherdogger thread....looking for excuses before the inevitable disappointment.

He's a big LW

In reality though he won't have to expend much energy from top position

I am not sure if were talking about the same thing. Generally main event fighters weigh in the morning and the fight is the next day at night, so they have like 36 hours. I read for this event due to the start time, every fighter will have something like 6 hours less to get weight back. I saw it in another thread.
Right, but from weigh in the prelims for a normal card is about the same length of time as this one is from weigh in to main event, so it's the main event guys getting the same amount of time as the prelim guys normally get. A guy just coming out and looking terrible because he cut a lot of weight the day before is insanely rare.

It's not like anybody's blindsided by this either. They know where they want to start their cut from, what they want to weigh in the cage, and they've cut weight enough times to know how they feel and how long it takes.

he’s arguably the biggest lightweight on the roster just like his mentor was. they’re very skilled and talented grapplers, as well as underrated strikers, but they wouldn’t dare compete at their natural weight class.

My goodness! Dude looks like hes about to take his last breath.

I think Islam will probably be 15-20lbs heavier than Volkanovski on fight night.

Not healthy, but i imagine he will be fine. If he is pushed in the first 4 rounds, I guess we'll see

Husky the champ before Islam lost his belt on the scale in an American commission I just find it a little hard to believe that UFC couldn't make the Arizona commission weigh an overweight Oliveira in on championship weight but they could make an overweight Islam weigh in on championship weight in Australia against an Australian.

The GSP thing it's definitely fishy though but maybe that's because it was in GSP's hometown?

I think if and when they can get away with these things, being the UFC, they might try to. Do they? I don't know. Do they or can they even SAFELY ENOUGH do it most of the time? Probably not. We are talking about a company that clearly has positive drug tests near the fight be delayed to be announced until after the bout, when it's a big enough bout. This is prized fighting, you think the commission is holding the UFC accountable at all times as a just yet austere entity? Ffs. I'm not saying anything fishy happened but to simply ask gets met with accusations of xenophobia and people being delusional conspiracists is something I'd like to push back on, especially when the individual wasn't coming off that way at all.

We have reasons to not trust the commission in boxing, we have reasons not to trust the commission in MMA too...being weary is valuable and somewhat justified. I only recently saw the scale footage with Khamzat and its very fishy. It should bother people.

Remember that Islam weighed in at 154.5 for olives, and looked like he had AIDS, then he went out and did what he did.
So i am Fully expecting Islam to be at 100% fight form in six hours when he fights.

No one ever has a good weight cut if we're being real. Islam has looked better but also worse. Doubt it'll matter

Even drained dry, I'd still put my money or Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Shoulda cut smart instead of trying to do a bulk of it two weeks before the fight.

Islam is going to take Volk into the deep, deep ocean and then make him tired and make him tap.

He historically has had 'bad weight cuts' due to being a BIG 155er, but he's never needed to weigh in nude before. Hence the curtains when he was on the scale.

It could be an issue when in the cage, or it could not.
Can you expand on that. Thanks.
