The whole country is corrupt and workshy. Attributing it to "design" is flattering to them.

Saudi's best fighters are the jihadi's who fill the ISIS recruitment ranks.
Feel free to read house of saud its got soo many factors designed to coup proof it that counter effective fightibg force
In fact only competent officql fighting force they have is utterly devoted and geared towards internal strife combat...itl never be deployed outside of borders, only one allowed to drill en masse regilarly

They at this stage all have that prestige
Vs u.s
Vs themselves
Vs isis in iraq after etc etc

You're too much of a simple simon to explain complex issues to.

This war against ISIS has been transformative. First there was the initial change, then the sunni backlash, and then the consolidation. What happens now is going to set the scene for a long long time.

As opposed to sounding soo smart talking about reformers and democratic change in a hardline theocracy?

Well 42 million people just turned out to vote.

That's 70% turnout. That's more than the US election.

It's a flawed democracy where candidates are vetted to fit the system, and everyone with a brain recognises these flaws, but also that Iranians are able to exercise choice within this system.

If you can't see the difference between Rouhani and Ahmadinejad then you are simply an idiot. There couldn't be a bigger contrast. The problem is that simpletons like yourself think "democractic change" in Iran means bending to the will of the US. Both presidents, in their own way, are trying to serve "Iranian" interests.

Fine wel agree to disagree there on them being different

It will but your delusiinal if you feel other actors will sit still or that 4 years of an activeanti iranian u.s vs 8 of a passive pro iranian one wont be a factor either

I don't think we should.

You are simply wrong. This is not a difference of opinion. It's like saying there's no difference between Obama and Trump. It's ridiculous.

Trump can't change Iraqi society. They have their own agency, and won't start loving saudi barbaria because trump says so.

Another neocon Israel-firster as a source.

You need to expand your reading material because these guys are all pushing the same talking points.

Russian Ka-52 in action blasting away with Vihkr ATGMs.

So
-hts seems to be in trouble
Lost one rebel group from its ranks ,has now after longtime ban allowed revolutionry flag to be flown in its areas of idib due to popular pressure and is demanding farmers in its areas sell wheat at below market prices !

-isis withdraw from large areas giving regime back a phospate mine and some towns in south

-israel drone strike kills 3 pro regime militas near border (hez most likely)

-russian 'advisors ' assembling force of various foriegn militas to kerb rebel advances in deera city

-u.s and coalition planes drop leaflets warning back off to iranian forces threatening the planned fsa advance on isis in south.

-macron says syrian regime uses gas again france will strike

Regime forces on the roll against IS lately. Plenty of area captured in eastern Aleppo as the offensive is still ongoing.

RuAF blasting around in Homs province somewhere south/southeast of Palmyra. Russian aircraft have actually switched to guided munitions? Bah gawd!

They also launched a few cruise missiles at targets around T3 pumping station east of Palmyra.

YPG gets a shipment of hummers, I hope those are not rusted pieces of crap from 90's like the garbage Ukraine got.

The rebels are in disarray and fighting each other and ISIS is on the way out.

The only thing that can stop the regime retaking what they want to retake would be a massive us bombing campaign.

So
- rebels near al tanf border area report increase in arms in south ,us repeats warning to iranians to stay back
Iranians talk of crescent from tehran to damscus not being stopped by u.s ....all seems set for a showdown
However early unconfirmed reports of iranian militas attacking and taking sdf towns so they may try and bypass the us and fsa by taking on the kurds!

-pics confirm hezbollah and pro regime militas and armour being massed to counter rebel gains in deera city
The rebel offensive is by a small breakaway from the largely dormant southern front and is now reliant on local city voulnteers to fund it so prob unlikely to make progress now vs the mass of afghan meatshields and iranian professionals incomming!

-in aleppo rebels and iraqi milita orgainse rare sucessful prisoner swap

-turkey singals no desire to leave syria ,building new base and has trained up armed cops to patrol al bab and other territories
Meanwhile the dozens of fsa groups there in the area continue to use the turks ammo and facilites to train and merge

-isis apparently fortifying mosul mosque for last stand.....crying out for a tomahawk no?

-macron meets rebel political leaders and apparently seems keen to involve eu more

-Massive non stop air strikes have begun on deera city , pro regime militas have been sent in convoys there en masse

-fsa say now 150 u.s troops at al tanf

-isis attacking central deir el zour all out...seems they are trying to take a new capital before old one falls.
