Is Youtube Premium worth it?

In my country youtube premium is around $3 i was already paying that amount for spotify premium so i cancelled it since youtube also has youtube music

Ever since I bought a "smart tv" I've been watching a lot of youtube. But I feel that lately the amount of commercials went out of hand...I'm not sure if I want to pay for premium, since I'm already paying for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify and Apple music.

Anyone pays for it? Is it worth it? Is it really "commercial less"?

If you use youtube constantly its worth it. I use it for music and podcasts when I'm at work and average like 60 hours a week. I could t imagine the commercials and nonsense without it.

Yes I know it used to be free and it was awesome and it sucks you gotta pay to use it now but that's where it's at now and if you want it to work right you don't really got an option

Adblock has been around for over a decade. If you're thinking of paying a website to get rid of ads you've been using the internet wrong.
Fucking this. I haven't seen an ad on YT (or anywhere) since 2011-ish. Not. One. Ad. It literally took only a few minutes to find, download and install two adblocks (I like the overlap, find it works better then just one, YMMV).

All of this being said, YT has only gotten shitter over time.

Extremely shitty, they ramped up the ads 3x just to get people to subscribe to their service. Also their search function is broken, ironic considering Google owns it.

I don't tackle any home repairs project without watching a few YouTube videos about it first.

Even if it's something I know how to do already, watching the videos often gives you pro tips or hacks that make it easier.

Using this method has probably saved me thousands of dollars, so the cost of YouTube premium is a small price to pay IMO.

I typically watch it on a TV hooked up to a fire stick, so ad blockers are not a great option for me.

Another cultured gentleman

Brave Browser. Download it, brave browser download it no down payment just download it. Unless you like paying for stuff that is free then have at it but brave browser download it.
Didn't realize this worked for YT.

Fuck yeah baby.

I was complaining about yt adds on Friday, smoking a joint with my aunt, talking about how I listen to tons of music on YT and that fucking ad interruption fucks up the mood.

Thanks sherhomie!!

Think of it like this. I bet you use YouTube much more than those other apps.

Why not your phone? You can be working on the repair and have the video for reference, instead of having to sit in front of the TV. If you need to view something on a large screen then just cast from your phone.

I second this 100%. (Posted from Brave Broswer). I’m going to stop my YouTube premium going forward now that I’ve discovered Brave.

It’s also great on sherdog - none of those obnoxious adds.

Yes but I watch lots of youtube.

I am aware I am financing a system of censorship etc but I still think it's worth the sacrifice.

Ads make me rage. They are stealing my time

I do watch on my phone when I'm in on the middle of a repair, but I like to watch a few videos on the TV before I even start, just so I know if I need to buy any materials or which tools to dig out, etc.
