Is Youtube Premium worth it?

Ever since I bought a "smart tv" I've been watching a lot of youtube. But I feel that lately the amount of commercials went out of hand...I'm not sure if I want to pay for premium, since I'm already paying for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify and Apple music.


Anyone pays for it? Is it worth it? Is it really "commercial less"?

I think it s worth it. Amazon Prime is bottom tier in my view.

I think people are so used to YT that they view it as some social service that only losers pay for.

I was like that at first, until I realised that YT covers like 75% of all my leisure screen time and that it's the most formidable multimedia tool around, in my view. Completely worth the 12€ per month in my view. I also hated spotify.

For researching, chrome is superior.
For surfing on known websites, chrome is very poor.

google and chrome are kind of making themselves obsolete. I'm noticing increasingly it drives me toward the content that they want me to see not what I'm actually looking for. The LLMs are filling the gap that google used to have. Right now I feel google is just a support line to confirm LLM results.

They are the same engines, chrome has additional spying, and more convenient at saving stuff across browsers on different machines, but brave ad block is next level
 
My brother pays YT premium and it’s real nice, I’m included in his family. I pay for his prime ever since he was a struggling student…

The issue with brave is that it doesn’t work on tv, and doesn’t play well with chrome books.
 
Tbh with you this is a question I'm asking myself more lately. I used to think the very idea was stupid because I've been using youtube for free for like 17 years. But I pay for netflix and hulu and barely use those. Meanwhile I'm on youtube 24/7 but don't want to give them any money out of "principle"

I'm starting to think this might be dumb lol.

I use YT every fucking day. ALL THE TIME.

Im tellin you,try it for a month and youll use it til you DIE.
 
Youll actually start to resent people who dont have it. Then when you go to their house and they try to show you a video and theres an ad,youll go fuckin peasant. How fucking dare they put you through that?
 
Even Netflix and Prime are making you pay to avoid commercials now

May as well give that towards YouTube if that’s the case

It's probably coming soon. Sad thing is I pay for Hulu and use it like twice a year. I don't get it, do I have stockholm syndrome? It's weird.

Ill tell you. I dont watch much TV. If there is a show I want to watch,ill DL off of soulseek. So Hulu and Netflix and all that stuff dont mean dick to me.

YT tho. Cant live without it. The constant stream of news and content,I must have it at my disposal. MMA news, Self education, and footage of Lions fighting hyenas. Fuck Hulu., Fuck Netflix. They can suck my dick

I switched to Brave browser, and it basically skips all the ads without additional plug-ins.
 
For me it is just because of my pure hatred for ads.
