she doesn’t know how to open folders or copy and move things anywhere. I showed her how to plug in a usb storage stick and move photos/videos to it but she still asks me to do it every single time.

Also I get texts “oh the WiFi is not working” ok turn of the modem and router and turn them back on. Legit have had this convo like 5 times with her.

and other simple shit she asks for help with she could easily google and figure out. Its driving me crazy. She’s in her late 20s and is like a 70 year old with computers.

My wife isn't bad with it but I do hate how she volunteers me to fix her families PCs. I don't even fix my own families PCs. My dad used to do it and then he started passing everyone off to me. I had to start telling people I don't have time to do it. They would even offer to pay but I don't want the money I just want my free time.

Most people outside of my fellow IT peeps are

We are seen as magicians and wizards. Call j123 or other IT guy, and it will work.

A few older ppl I've done help for have rage issues and when their tech is non-responsive or fails they physically smash and destroy it. Turns out it wasnt working because it needed to be updated to the most recent version and it was shutting down because the link sent requires latest version update and wouldn't work without it....

Or the best one: update cant work until permissions reduced (which was set higher by their choice) = rage mode and go ape shit.

I’m the de facto IT guy at my house and I know nothing about IT. Any time something isn’t working my wife asks me to fix it and I’m always like, “You know I don’t how to fix that.” Then I figure it out. But it frustrates me that she can’t figure it out.
