Is this the first time ever that the 145 champ could reasonably beat the welterweight champ?

Ilia looked like a midget next to Max.
Holloway is tall, LW tall, but there is a reason he spent his career at FW, his frame is too narrow, doesnt carry muscle that well like LW´s or WW´s do.
If he could win the 155 and 170 belts he would fight there. Why kill yourself on a weight cut if you don't have to? There is a reason these guys cut weight.
The last time he tried LW (he probably got better) was losing the fight until he KO´d Herbert, even got close to being KO´d himself.

I like Pitbull; but Ramazanovich is way too big for him.

No chance!

The only thing stopping Topuria from being double champ are the two best wrestlers under 185 , Islam and Belal...
Which is exactly why I’m so interested in seeing him fight Evloev.
We have to really see Topuria taken out of his comfort zone of boxing to really understand his potential against elite grappling.
Ultimately the cap on his potential beyond FW is most impacted by his smallness of stature. His frame and height are highly disadvantaged for tackling the challenges which will present themselves in the stark contrasts of size disparity with much larger and similarly elite fighters upwards of the 145 clsss.

Belal is one of the weakest champs in UFC history in terms of finishing ability, and thus doesn’t really threaten Ilia in any way except the possibility of winning on points. Since Topuria doesn’t have to worry about Belal’s power despite the size advantage, he can freely fish for a knockout.

Ilia also beat max easily, who is 5’10 - belal is the same height and not huge for 170. Thoughts?
So was GSP and he's a of people GOAT.
And now they I think about it Serra could've been a 145 pounder and be knocked out GSP got the WW belt.

One of the weakest champs in UFC history? When was the last time he lost and how many fights has he won since then?

This is a case of you using emotions in place of logic. You are either a child or incredibly stupid. Not sure which tbh.

Have a nice day Sherbro.

The guy hasnt los tin 5 years and you think hes the worst champ the ufc has currently? As they are literally protecting poatan from anyone who can spell the word wrestling.

Sometimes a hater just has to hate i suppose. This is some outlandish shit. belal would fucking destroy Ilia, he wouldnt just beat him, he would big brother outclass absolutely fcuking demolish him.

one thing that always stays constant throuigh time. Sherdogs ability to produce tuf noobs and dumbasses...

im guessing max lost to Ilia because he couldnt do the 145 cut anymore. ill bet my life he wont ever drop down there for another fight.

……..

His power isn’t gunna translate 1:1 going up multiple weight classes AND his speed ain’t either.

C’mon guys, do better.

Absolutely has a chance to knock out Belal and yes this is the first time this is possible
BJ Penn fought as low as FW and has a victory over Matt Hughes at 170. Granted Penn lost all his UFC fights at FW but a featherweight beating a welterweight is not the craziest thing in the world.

In 2019 Tristan Connelly who fought as low as FW won a fight at WW against Michel Pereira, who currently fights at 185 because he struggles to make 170.

Volkanovski also won fights at higher weight classes on the regionals.

What makes Belal a weak or the weakest champion?....

Like wtf are y'all even saying...
Belal can’t finish a fight to save his life; that’s what makes him both a weak champ and boring. Someone like Ilia has 5 full rounds to find Belal’s chin and doesn’t have to worry about taking a power shot in return.

Do you understand how power works lol..

Max made Topuria look tiny...Belal would make him look like a child

Belal would grind the fuck out of Topuria. As soon as he gasses him, he would take over.
