Is this the definition of I showed up for the paycheck or what?

Showing up to get paid doesn't necessarily mean you just show up and lie down. AJ shooting for takedowns and giving up his neck without putting up a fight is showing up to get paid. And then of course the immediate retirement afterwards. If he had somehow won he might have been motivated to continue but he gave up and got out.
Well he for sure quits when going gets tough. I just feel like this is a title fight im sure he intended to win

Everyone "intends to win" as in all of the examples in this thread. The point is being totally fine with losing.

So Khabib, who threw the exact same punch against Conor, is not a professional?
Bad example. Khabib threw the punch when Conor was in a position where he couldn't evade it. He made Conor react to the wrestling threat then attacked upstairs. It's actually a technique Khabib has used before.

that's called going to your instinctual Go-To move that seemed to always work against scrubs

was definitely a bizarre game plan as he initiated grappling and it wasn't to panic wrestle.

was there like an imaginary fighter standing in front of Francis because that’s what it looked like really? Hunt even moved more than Francis

Looks like Dos Santos was probably expecting Ngannou to throw a left hand, and wanted his right hand to land over the top of it...

Instead, Ngannou chose to retreat so the punch came up short and counter. He just misses the initial check left hook, but is able to land with the follow up...

Then explain why would a pro throw an overhead right against the air and act as if he was even close?
Because its MMA and we see these punches all the time. Including from JDS

I dont think Nick Diaz showed up with the intention of fighting in a dissapointing way. He just gave what he's got in him at that point in his career. Both of them were pretty depleted at that point.

If Nick cared about the paycheck, hed still be fighting
I mean, he stood back and tried counter punching Anderson all fight. Thats pretty much just showing up for a pay check or fighting scared
