Most of the people that I hang with are liberal, and I've only met one actual "crazy, purple hair type SJW' in my life. She was a young, bisexual chick from SoCal. (very talented girl )

And I think people are more putting on a show and being stupid rather than actually believing in this shit. You get a group of dumb people together, and they tend to do dumb shit. Put a camera in front of their face, and they'll say dumb shit. Steer them in a direction, and they'll go. Most people are sheep.

I don't know. Some of it seems a lot like religious belief. Good luck arguing evolution with a hardcore creation scientist. Good luck pointing out logical or empirical flaws with a hardcore SJW.

College kids are being told to be outraged at social non-sense, so we don't have Vietnam war protests part 2.

Really though your talking two sides of the same coin there IMHO. WHen you say "taking it too far" your not generally talking about demands for significant social change, your talking about someone making some inflammatory but ultimately irrelevant point about sex dolls or something like that which those on the other side can get equally angry about.

Really classic divide and conquer tactics were politics become focused on issues like this that really aren't going to lead to much significant change no matter which side "wins".

To address your Stan Lee and after comments, a few idiots exercising their right to freedom of expression doesn't represent a trend or a movement.

Regarding your pre-Stan Lee comments, you are correct that the SJW mentality has infiltrated Hollywood and even Broadway. This I know from personal experience. Games I know nothing about, but I don't doubt that it's there too. While I do think much of it is ridiculous, and that it's a corruption of an art form, I don't see it as an influence on society; I think it's the other way around. What's happening in society has been an influence on Hollywood and Broadway, and I guess games too.

A few games got flack for not including xyz types in, and with the busy schedules, they've had to focus on including stuff and in the end the quality of the product suffers

But really, the entire gaming industry is getting bad. Companies forcing games out with very restricted timelines, heavy direction of micro-transactions, "pay to win" stuff

The issue of SJW and all this, from what I'm seeing is a massive appeal for attention along with rallying.

Knew a guy who was big on BLM, and "cared" for black folk. The kid spent his entire day on social media retweeting, posting frequnt material on it. So he was cussing out and tarnishing this fella. Turns out he didn't really care about black people, just the other guy said a joke with his friends calling people gay (like how most people did as kids), and he took that as being homophobic and went on a campaign for it. Issues like this isn't new, I'm seeing a huge loss in communication these days, it's becoming a lost art. I actually believe most people don't really care about the message they're spouting, but only jump in because they get high off the unity of a community, and play moral police.

Other example. Fat chicks acting like they care about fitness and nutrition, when really its a power play to get back at the hot chicks who got all the attention and guys back in the day. Nothing but attempting to shuffle the deck

My wife told me that a oair of husband and wife friends won't come around and socialise with us anymore because of my pointing out the nonsense behind modern feminism when they bring it up. This is when I quote government statistics to prove a point, and with me being an avowed feminist..

I have academically minded friends though so it's not surprising I encounter this stuff a lot.
