Really though your talking two sides of the same coin there IMHO. WHen you say "taking it too far" your not generally talking about demands for significant social change, your talking about someone making some inflammatory but ultimately irrelevant point about sex dolls or something like that which those on the other side can get equally angry about.

Really classic divide and conquer tactics were politics become focused on issues like this that really aren't going to lead to much significant change no matter which side "wins".

If you look at the kind of stuff that causes angry reactions from certain people on Sherdog its all along those kind of lines, "feminist claim sex dolls should be banned" or "Donald Duck is transphobic" or whatever. Its basically claims being made that are highly questionable and inflammatory but also relating to largely irrelevant subjects and the same goes for a lot of the opposite with claims being made by alt rightist people.

If there not doing that then both sides are really following that video I posted a lot of the time. their treating the subject in a very vague moralistic fashion talking about "white/male privilege" or "crazy liberals" really more religious in nature. That kind of discussion IMHO tends to be more about puffing up peoples ego's highlighting to themselves that they are morally worthy and their opponents aren't, it doesn't tend to focus very much on actual real change on the ground that might help people. Most obviously SJW typical individuals and most liberal media very rarely have anything to say about wealth inequality, indeed a lot of the discussion actually ends up focused on the lives of very rich celebrities.

I don't think its any coincidence that the politicians and media that help both sides of this culture form are heavily under the influence of wealthy/powerful individuals who would have more to lose should we see significant on the ground change made. Indeed if you look at politicals who actually look to offer this kind of change like Sanders of Corbyn you see "SJW" culture(especially as it exists in the mainstream media) is often very hostile to them throwing alligations of sexism, racism, etc at them no matter how ill founded.

I agree except for that last part. The only thing I ever remember other liberals getting on Bernie Sanders about was him not wanting to hold gun manufacturers responsible for mass shootings. I thought he made the right call, but many liberals were angry about that.

For the past two years Republicans controlled everything at the Federal level and that did nothing to slow down, stop or reverse this stuff so I don’t think you’re correct at all.

Intersectionality is very essence of contemporary progressive politics. Their entire world view is predicated on dividing people into groups then boosting those they favor and dragging down those they don't, because you as an individual don't matter, all that matters in your group identity.

Which is why I completely disavowed the left. It's difficult to think of a more destructive message. It is however hilarious watching this play out, seeing things like the knives coming out for lesbians who wouldn't have sex with a transsexual with a dick, because that means they don't view them as real women are are therefore transphobic & traitors to the intersectional cause. It's a weird world out there.

Look at Electronic Arts stock the last year

They've let Dice destroy the money printing Battlefield franchise. The virtue signaling is off the charts over there, actively altering legit WW2 stories to shoehorn fictional female roles. Don't get me started on their terrible PR at announcement.

Another huge Franchise, Dragon Age, has their story lead already declaring his intentions to inject his identity politics into the game. It was only mentioned (my guess) as an upcoming title (prob years away) to absorb any heat their upcoming Anthem title could get should it not deliver either.

They deeply injured another money making franchise, Mass Effect, by not only releasing a shitty title (Andromeda) but allowing identity politics to poison the well in the game, and out of it. They had a character openly declare they were trans for no reason, while having a racist writer on twitter hate on white people incessantly. You couldn't even create a white character at launch lol

Look at the Star Wars franchise, Disney style. How did they let some piss ant like Rian Johnson turn a beloved franchise into third wave feminism trash?

Disney does love money though, so it looks as Bob Iger reined in Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm. She got a contract extension, but has been silent for months, backing up the rumours that she's not really in charge in anymore, as Disney tries to undo the damage she caused with her agenda. How do you fuck up an IP Star Wars?

I'm sure the pendulum will swing back to something more sane, as more companies see their bottom lines dwindling. Regardless, this SJW phase in our culture has caused intense damage and is reaching its climax. Everyone is walking on eggshells while the SJW mobs prowl social media, looking for the next "Baby it's cold outside" offense. It can't last much longer can it?

I think you see the other side of things here from politics, in both cases I think you have seen liberal values co opted, for power in the first sense and for money here.

I don't think someone like Kennedy has much in the way of real liberal views, or at least doesn't give them much priority in her working life if she does. Its moreso I think that the entertainment industry has viewed liberial causes as an easy band wagon to jump on, something were you only have to make the weakest and most superficial movements yet will still be praised to heaven for them.

The problem just as with politics has been though I'd say that these people exist in a media bubble that's badly overestimated the appeal of their tactics.

To be honest I only noticed a few instances of sjw virtue signalling in real life, the rest was on Facebook and I've noticed it's gone down quite a bit.

Last year a large percentage of people on my FB we're posting white privilege gripes, gender gender shit, etc. Now not so much.

There are only a few people on my feed including a dude that converted to Islam (lol) that post that kind of stuff and they get few of any likes/reactions so I guess people got tired of hearing bitches whine about basically nothing.
