digging your chin into your opponent more than likely there back and using elbows and knees to dig into them as well? is there a name for this
 
How much pot did you smoke before you got on the computer?
 
ive encountered this a few times when i roll no gi and they got your back they like dig there chin into the middle of your spine or your shoulder. its kind of distracting its not something i use
 
It's legal to dig your chin, or grind elbows in someones legs while in guard, or grind a knee in knee on belly. It's just a douche move to do on your training partners.
 
In training: If you don't want it done to you, don't do it.

In competition: If you don't get caught, everything is legal.
 
Geez man up, cross facing and digging elbows is part of basically every grappling style ever. As long as they aren't doing it to an unresonable level, deal with it. You will get used to it, in time.

Why is it a douche-move? If they do it for a little moment it isn't annoying at all and if they do it for a long period then your guard is shitty.
 
Unofficially it's called jonesing and it happens even in amateur wrestling. The more scientific application is pressuring Tsubo points to make the opponent react or turn a certain way.
 
It isn't explicitly illegal (although I think the IBJJF says something about pressure points, no?), but not THAT useful.

Pain moves work well in training, in a more relaxed athmosphere.

Opening up a well-trained beast that is on full adrenaline in an important Championship match? Good luck.

So I wouldn't spend too much time on it.
 
Digging their chin into your spine? How does that even happen? Are you just laying there taking it?
 
We specifically train to use the elbow inside of the thing for guard passing. We really grind it in there. The thing is this, after a couple of months of dealing with somebody doing it to you, it stops hurting. I don't feel it at all anymore. As for other pain moves in training, my thoughts are this, we train to submit people, and causing gratuitous pain is not trying to submit somebody. Instead it just makes them want to cause you pain in return.
 
I only learned how to properly apply the elbows into the inner thigh a few days ago. Yes, there is a method and technique that makes it more effective then just an irritation. No, it's not just stabbing your elbows into the legs.

Yeah...actually often times guys don't know what they are doing and just push down with the elbows. I use this to triangle them. Also, guys tend to use both elbows at the same time, which doesn't really work on somebody flexible.

If you are using both elbows on the thighs, I find this way too easy to counter.

You are not stopping the guy from sitting up, so he can just do that and open the elbows by cupping them, from my experience.

Yes, usually when someone does this to me with both hands on the hip, I sit up, cup both their elbows and pull while using my bodyweight, which opens the elbows.

This works on significantly stronger and heavier opponents too.
 
I use my chin to pull my opponent's near shoulder in if he tries to turtle from side control. Picked it up from Ryan Hall.
