think of engagements. its kind of a way of formally updating interested parties on your relationship status.

people that are close to you are going to naturally ask you about your spouse. If she's separating from the marriage during pregnancy, you need to do everything you can to support her and keep it together be there for all the medical appointments you can because she may literally be crazy from all the hormones rushing through her.

If you want to reconcile and she is pregnant and you start a fling while separated you just killed the marriage dead.

If she still wants a divorce when the kid is 12 months old then go for it.

But whether she admits it or not, she needs you like crazy right now and will need you even more after the birth.


You may have to surf the crazy for a while though until the hormones chill out.




Separated or not, even if you're fully divorced, if you hook up with anyone while she's pregnant or caring for your infant she will never forgive you.
