Is there something I'm missing with the arman hype?

Arman doesn't jump off the screen the way he fights, yes. But he's the best lightweight in the world that the current lw champ is ducking ala jones style.

In my opinion, I think Arman beats him maybe finishes him late.

Also, I believe that Gamrot was a bad robbery and mind you, I do NOT care for Arman. I just give respect where it's due.

So in my opinion, once again, Arman should be on a 10-win streak after losing to Islam.

Also, Arman never really had hype like Conor or Topuria. It is more like Khabib, someone very very good but not necessarily hype for being exciting.

You aren't missing out on anything if you don't like Arman. I don't think Arman is as good as Islam in his prime, but I wonder if Islam is slipping a bit based on poirier fight. I can see why Topuria would want that fight based on that Poirier fight because Islam looked beatable that night, and not sure if that version would've beaten Arman.

All in all, Arman doesn't present anything we haven't seen before outside being way more flexible than an average grappler based fighter. So, you aren't necessarily missing out, but if you like seeing the best lw in his prime currently, maybe.

How does Paddy deserve it more? He hasn't fought and beat a top 10 ranked opponent? You can't say based on in cage achievements he deserves it more. Does he have more followers? Sure, but if that's the criteria then McGregor gets a title shot. Then we can go with Jake Paul or Taylor Swift or maybe the new Pope?

Other fighters have had issues and still gotten title shots.

Yes Paddy looks like a killer against lower level competition. What was Bobby Green like top 25? Chandler again is 5-1 in his last 6 and if it wasn't for Tony Ferguson he wouldn't have a win since his UFC debut.

I am fine with Arman vs Paddy for an official #1 contender fight.
But only if they also book Topuria to fight Gathje as well. No reason for the "Champion" that won a vacant title to sit on it and wait around while refusing specific contenders.

Arman is a good grappler, but he missed his shot and he doesn't really jump out on the screen.
I'm for him getting a TS for the good of the sport (or whatever.) but I feel like the hype is FAKE AF.

So you want to reward the Champ "Title" Squatting? He wants to refuse to fight Arman but isn't willing to fight anyone else either unless it is a Green Paddy rushed into a title fight.

Champions are supposed to fight the #1 contender and based on merit that is Arman. If Arman is to fight Paddy for an official #1 contender fight then Toppy must fight Justin. He should not sit around holding up the division. He is trying to sit around and hope Islam wins the WW title at MSG so he can try to jump another class for a 3rd title without even defending LW. Fuck him IMO. He wins a vacant title so he isn't even a real champion at LW. He needs to beat 3 top 5 LWs to establish a new legitimate lineage.

It is no longer reasonable to say Dariush is one of the best in the division.

Charles of course, that is the singular best win in the division, and Arman beat him - albeit a controversial decision.

the only things i like about Arman is that he's young, comes in shape, and is an actual MIXED martial artist. but i don't think he's beating Topuria. i think someone can beat Topuria using grappling to wear him and slow his reflexes in striking that they could possibly even knock him out there also, but who this hypothetical person is, i do not know. i don't even think Islam can beat Topuria.

i've been saying it ever since Islam hinted at the WW title. i even think Topuria could knock Islam out there too.
