Is there something I'm missing with the arman hype?

I wanted Arman to win but was very surprised with how effective Gamrot was with pressure and takedowns. Pretty sure Arman landed a knockdown at one point but still didn’t secure the round, and that’s where the controversey was. It’s still surprising to me that Gamrot had the success that he did in that fight. Not ready to call it a robbery. I don’t like when crotch sniffing is rewarded, but I also don’t cry robbery when it wins. Numbers-wise, the striking was close, but Gamrot’s takedowns and control time were the difference.

In round by round scoring there's just no way Gamrot should've gotten the nod. I really try to reserve the word "robbery" for the absolute worst cases...so I'll just say the wrong guy won and stop there.

I cannot give him one round, if anything I did not respect how much it was a robbery until I watched it again last week.

Also, Gamrot was knocked down twice in different rounds directly from shots that echoed loudly off gams body. All his takes downs were stopped or escaped, except maybe 2 (don't quote me on that but most of his attempts were stopped.

I don't care either way but its a very interesting example of a really weird call at a very significant time in the division. (So important that Khabib and Hunter were ringside)

I think it is a matchup thing.

He won't stand with Illia and will try to lay on him. Arman has no issue winning a fight by lay and pray and Illia was controlled by Mitchell

Its one of the more confounding takes by people. His resume is crap he lost to gamrot wont fight anyone and won a squeaker past Charles. People love Russia its honestly weird.

Arman doesn't jump off the screen the way he fights, yes. But he's the best lightweight in the world that the current lw champ is ducking ala jones style.

In my opinion, I think Arman beats him maybe finishes him late.

Also, I believe that Gamrot was a bad robbery and mind you, I do NOT care for Arman. I just give respect where it's due.

So in my opinion, once again, Arman should be on a 10-win streak after losing to Islam.

Also, Arman never really had hype like Conor or Topuria. It is more like Khabib, someone very very good but not necessarily hype for being exciting.

You aren't missing out on anything if you don't like Arman. I don't think Arman is as good as Islam in his prime, but I wonder if Islam is slipping a bit based on poirier fight. I can see why Topuria would want that fight based on that Poirier fight because Islam looked beatable that night, and not sure if that version would've beaten Arman.

All in all, Arman doesn't present anything we haven't seen before outside being way more flexible than an average grappler based fighter. So, you aren't necessarily missing out, but if you like seeing the best lw in his prime currently, maybe.

Islam is hardly avoiding Topuria, since he took a more dangerous opponent. Topuria said that he would rather relinquish than fight Arman... Talk about ducking.

At this point, if he fights Paddy over Justin I am cool with it. Justin is the perfect guy for him to knockout, lots of video, never wrestles, predictable ducking of the head forward, gets frustrated and steps in the pocket plus its his last fight. I still don't understand what he meant when he said he would vacate before fighting Arman, maybe I am missing something as I thought he wanted to the best ever or something.

Put any other 145 155 against his last 3 (other than Islam) and they go 1-2 at best

Arman is a good grappler, but he missed his shot and he doesn't really jump out on the screen.
I'm for him getting a TS for the good of the sport (or whatever.) but I feel like the hype is FAKE AF.

Islam left before he had to fight them. And he was done crushing all the about to be retired lw strikers.

Now he's in a good spot were he may only have to fight ww strikers.

Illia will need to beat paddy and Armen before he can fight islam. Since

Islam wint be able to jump around when you already have 2 contendors waiting for a title fight. And then usmen who is or 1 win from it. 3 guys.
