Put any other 145 155 against his last 3 (other than Islam) and they go 1-2 at best

Arman is a good grappler, but he missed his shot and he doesn't really jump out on the screen.
I'm for him getting a TS for the good of the sport (or whatever.) but I feel like the hype is FAKE AF.

Arman got cred for being competitive with Islam a really long time ago, and since then, got gamed by Gamrot and struggled against Olives. I think Ilia tools him and proves MMAth is more accurate than some would like to believe.

It's hipster UFC fans these days who fancy themselves as hardcore fans with more knowledge than the rest of us. That group get boners for any high level wrestler from the caucuses. If Ilia grew out more of a beard and wrestled more, they'd be very, very perplexed about who to root for in a fight between those two.

Zero momentum, his last win has already bounced back, fought for the title and lost.

Gaethjes win over Fiziev is more justifed at this point IMO. It's more recent and more decisive.

I don't think it's because Arman is that good, it's because Topuria hasn't fought any good wrestlers. Even if Ilia can defend himself on the ground and Arman's not much of a sub threat, he's still a better wrestler and will make him work and wear his arms out instead of the older guys who've just traded punches with him.

Paddy? 23-3 career record
9-1 in his last 10.
Difference is Paddy's best win is over Chandler who is 6-4 in his last 10. Paddy has never faced a top 10 opponent.

Gathje? 26-5 career
7-3 in his last 10 but only on a 1 fight win streak, 3-2 in his last 5.

So you think they should rush Paddy to a title fight to appease Toppy or they should give Justin a 3rd title shot? Who exactly has done more to EARN a title shot currently?

I mean it's true Topuria has basically proven his striking can beat anyone almost, his grappling hasn't been tested. People want to see it tested, myself included. I wish it was Islam instead of Arman, but some rather see Arman go now. I just don't like the idea of a guy missing weight for a title fight and pulling out, sitting around 1.5 years for another one. He clearly has earned a title shot, but he got one and pulled out the day of.

The fight itself will likely be pretty boring with Arman diving for takedowns while Topuria roughs him up like the Mitchell fight. I'm just sick of LWs sitting around. Gaethje says he's only taking a titleshot or retiring. Arman is probably paying bots to hype his social media up. Everyone's doing everything except getting another W, just 1 fight. Only reason I think Paddy should jump the line if everyone is sitting out playing rank squatting games.
