The ruleset definitely aids wrestlers though, particularly ones that use wall and stall to stifle strikers. Headbutts, soccer kicks etc should be allowed
More effective in a real fight is the ancient art of sticks and rocks.Usually to goad wrestlers to stand with them and not utilize their wrestling...
Looking at you Conor and Masvidal...
Wrestling is the most ancient martial art and the most effective in a real 1v1 fight, if you get taken down on a hard surface, you're dead.
Then we got these pussies pretending that it's "not real fighting" because they can't grapple to save their lives.
Perhaps they should GTFO and Kickbox somewhere else. This is MMA, if you let another man grabs and manhandles you, it's because you're an inferior fighter, and you should thank God your head is being slammed on a soft surface inside the cage instead of the pavement in a real fight.

Meh I think when fighters hang out against the fence not doing much or holding opponent down not doing much it's lame. But that's just me.Usually to goad wrestlers to stand with them and not utilize their wrestling...

Yeah, he used to be a great all rounder. I think his talent left with his cardio, if you don't put in the work, conserving energy is always on your mind. There will always be fighters that complain. Rampage is the best example of it. He wants a boxing match inside the cage. He refuses to engage in low-kicks against grapplers, and cries when he gets taken down. Wasn’t he a wrestler in high school/college? If he had used half that time getting better at grappling, he probably could be a Minor threat in grappling.
If you are a grappler who isn't good enough to threaten your opponent with dangerous positions, ground and pound or subs, etc, then you are just neutralizing your opponent and its lame and not really winning a fight to me. But whatever. Controlling grapplers who grind out decisions can eat my ass.
no point in getting mad at wet blankets. It's up to faves to git gud. If you can't stop takedowns, score you own, scramble and sweep/threaten subs, fuck outta the ufc. Go to bareknuckleAgreed, I think a lot of it is lame ass grapplers like Jon Fitch playing it safe and not wanting to take chances, which is boring as hell. You don't see that with stud grapplers like Khabib and Maia.
On a side note, remember when my boy nearly choked the life out of your boy?
going for a takedown on concrete is also a lot riskier, for instance how often do you hit your knee on the mat when going for a takedown. If that was on concrete it could easily injure you before completing a takedown.A wrestler would have infinite ways to smash your skull if he gets you on concrete.
The person being controlled in a boring fight is also on the hook for said boring fight along with the boring grappler content to just control position and win a decision.no point in getting mad at wet blankets. Idk during the Pride Era we saw plenty of MMA guys crossover to K-1 in its heyday and do just fine?I'm a striker (MT) and always root for the striker but you are right. The success of the strikers in mma is due to fighting guys who are not specialized in striking. Conor, even Android could not strike against someone like buakaw
Plus in a street fight if you are grappling and someone is on bottom they are going to do whatever the fuck to get up. Eye gouge, bite, dick punch, etc. Much easier to prevent that type of cheap tactic in a stand up battle where you have time to react and adjust compared to grappling its just going to devolve into a dirty shit show of who is willing to be the more desperate fighter in an actual street fighting situation.going for a takedown on concrete is also a lot riskier, for instance how often do you hit your knee on the mat when going for a takedown.
