Is there anything more mystical and amazing than Matrix Silva

vitor is also a brawler...most of his KO wins are vs. wrestlers and vs. a brawler like Wand....they both excel back when most kickboxers are fighting in K-1...

You’re gonna be able to say something about everyone then if putting Vitor Belfort on a poster isn’t impressive enough for you.

Silva's standup is great (Some of the best ever) but is absolutely not as good as people made it out to be.

He over-committed with his left all the time. I am surprised no one was able to capitalize because going back and watching now, he constantly over-extended with that left.

I feel like every top 7 middleweight these days can highlight reel some of these bums Silva fought

This is the same tired argument a lot of people use to diminish Silva's greatness.

Yea, no shit. Sports evolve due to the giants who came before. Thanks captain obvious.

How many were doing this when Silva was on top? There was a similar magic when he entered the Octagon to Mike Tyson. The greatness was felt by all tuning in

Only McGregor has been able to channel the same type of magic since

Not gonna argue with that, but for me that's what's magic about Silva, and what separates him from other great strikers like Izzy or Alex. Anderson played the high-risk/high-reward game better than anyone. Sure, in the end It got him on someone's highlight reel too, but as long as It worked, It was something else to watch.

I mean look at this, round 2, Silva chooses to put his hands down and just matrixes all over Yushin Okami…. Magical stuff

it starts at 10:05 here.

Maybe the myth of Ryoto

And maybe if anyone ever capitalized, he’d adjust. I don’t think we should criticize him because maybe something that nobody ever did might have worked.

Marvin Vettori would look like Canelo against Yushin Okami so probably
Maybe, maybe not? Okami was a very strong grappler. I would probably pick prime Marvin to beat prime Okami, though. But Okami is probably not even in Anderson's top 10 best wins, is he?

Guys like Hendo and Vitor would 100% KO Marvin Vetorri. Marvin has a great chin but those two guys had the power to KO anybody.

Also, Marvin has really good takedown defense but I guarantee Chael Sonnen would take him down every round.

Did I say that? Vitor and Silva are far better strikers than their opponents...they were the "more technical" at that time. Silva made everone look foolish...but it was a matter of time before someone figures him out...Weidman is not the better striker. He just figured out Silva...Vitor is always dangerous on the feet...but he isn't who you say he is...he's got power and he can blitz (that's his game).

Other lesser men have tried to emulate matrix Silva but they are just pale imitations

LOL!
Forgot about this classic moment!

Rashads opponent was left completely confused.

Man, pre-USADA, dudes were JACKED

Silva is one of a kind. 14 finishes in that 16 fight win streak which included several title defenses. 2,457 days as champ. It will be a very long time before that record is beaten. One of the GOATs.

Peak Anderson was special, fun to watch.

The reverse elbows, matrix stuff, poor Forest Griffin, those were the days lol
