Media Is there any current UFC LW that Khabib wouldn't be a GIGANTIC favourite over?

Chandler.
He can lose to just about anyone in the rankings while having just as much chance beating them. All of his fights are truly 50-50.
He is quicker and hits harder than Poirier or Gaethje. He is a better wrestler than the majority of Khabib's past opponents. Both Khabib and Islam have good striking defense but they are not immune to explosive fighters who can get in their face before their feet can adjust.

Also to anyone who is dismissing Volk and Islam (for having a close fight with Volk). It's pathetic how you would conveniently discard Islam just to retain the legacy of Khabib.
Chandler would be dangerous and maybe competitive for about 2 rounds. He falls apart after that. I mean if Poirier submitted him by the 3rd round, what do you think Khabib would do?

Anthony Pettis if he returns to the UFC. He just beat RJJ in boxing. Hands of freakin' steel, baby!

I mean are we just talking betting odds? Khabib had 3-4 meaningful fights his entire career and was favored/won all of them, so I doubt anyone would be favored over him.

He never fought a good wrestler so we wouldn’t know. Today grappling is much more devastating than in his time. Fighters he defeated are looked as a fodder for best upcoming talent and they aren’t even that old. Only thing I know is that it would be much harder today than it was when he fought Poirier or Gaethje. Much more talent in the division now.

Which current LW wrestler do you have in mind?

People are obsessed with this cat.
He quit fighting like 15 years ago, guys, after 3 title defences.

Let it go lads, the game has moved on.

It's like he has a paid army of shills or some shit, it's weird as fuck lads.

Volk beats him ..

Dariush beats him

The rest of the division are strikers with no brains

Utterly laughable about Volk.

Volk barely beat Islam, who doesn't have 1/10th of the pizzazz Khabib does.

I do agree that Dariush would be an interesting threat, but the power and pressure of Khabib are unmatched in the division.

The pace and pressure of Khabib is something I don't think anyone can handle.

Volkanovski possesses ZERO threat is a striker, compared to Khabib's granite chin, and he possesses ZERO threat on the ground.

Makhachev is a flimsier, more cautious man than Khabib.

Khabib is rougher, tougher, meaner, more determined, and puts on 10x the pressure that Islam does.

He would mow Volkanovski over, and finish him on the ground.

Word from the island has it that B.J.’s thinking about taking it seriously again, like jogging and everything…

I would pick Islam to beat Khabib, wrestling cancels each other out, Islam's superior striking wins him a UD

Since Makhachev is currently the best, i don't see anyone beating a prime Khabib.

Only if someone beats Makhachev that Khabib didn't beat, then you might ask the question again.

If Islam gets his chin checked though like he did with Martins, it would be hard to say that would happen to Khabib because their chins are drastically different.

Outside of Islam (who Khabib would still be a clear favourite over but would obviously never fight),

DC said he thinks Khabib could have gone 50-0 if he stuck around, and I tend to agree with him. It's not just his smothering best ever grappling style and highest ever fight IQ, but also his granite chin. I understand a lot of true fans wanted him to stick around, and a larger portion of salty fans desperately wanted to see him lose and say he ran! lol but being realistic...

who exactly that currently fights at LW wouldn't be a GIGANTIC underdog against Khabib?

This is one DC's worst takes.

Khabib has one of the most padded records(if not the most) of any UFC champ. The idea he could another 20 title defences is laughable. He isn't the kind of fighter that takes no damage and he was struggling to make weight which only gets harder with age.

IMO Khabib would have likely lost in one of his next 3 fights due to a combo of higher level competition, age and stylistic matchup.

Age? lol Khabib was 31 when he retired.

And who was going to beat him?

Please give me names.

Considering how volk went v Islam, I think he has every chance of beating him. Charles/Dariush/Gamrot all go in with a chance IMO, may not be favourites but can win.

At the rate he was fighting his third fight likely comes at 33 or 34 which for lower weight classes is when the decline usually starts to happen. Most champions feel unbeatable at times but come crashing down eventually.
